Relaxin? For widening hips?

So, today I discovered the hormone relaxin (apparently rises during pregnancy to help the hips become more mobile) ... I was really curious if this could be used for MTF's to get wider hips?

I had thought the hips widening during pregnancy happened at the point of childbirth, but apparently it happens way before that (from the hormones). It makes sense that if we tried to mimic the hormone levels of pregnancy, we could get the same effects?

Anyone know anything about this?

Relaxin . . . on the sofa too much, in front of TV, will do it !

lol Sorry - silly girl misunderstood - couldn't RESIST !
"But it's no use now," thought poor Alice, "to pretend be two people!

The bones that form the pelvis are mature after puberty so that does not change during pregancy.
Relaxin increases the flexibility of the ligaments and cartilage holding the hip bones together, so as the baby gets bigger the hips "sag" outwards.  After the baby is born, relaxin levels drop and everything tightens back up again.  The widened hips after are the last few pounds of pregnancy weight gain that hasn't shifted!

From that I don't think relaxin is really going to help with developing a wider derriere. :(

From what I have been reading, it seems the hip changes aren't from just the size of the baby... since some girls have changes during the first or 2nd trimester.

The hips also increase during the actual childbirth, but that only lasts a couple weeks (it isn't the one I'm talking about). A lot of girls get permanent hip increase during the pregnancy.

It just seems like taking these things during the first few years would help make things a little more mobile ? Allowing for the "puberty" changes to happen easier down there?

I read somewhere that it also can increase the size of the foot, so it would be a trade off if you have already wide feet.

Relaxin relaxes everything in you, feet, hands, anywhere there are ligaments. And it sucks. When I was pregnant I developed something called SPD, where ligaments in the hips stretch too much and causes misalignment of the pelvis, sometimes causing damage to the hip joints themselves. I still have trouble walking sometimes, and my hips have definitely gotten wider. That's not supposed to happen in most cases, they're supposed to 'tighten back up' as a PP mentioned. If they don't, like with me, say farewell to comfortable walking/sitting/sleeping for a good long time, haha! (No, really, I promise, it's a hell I wouldn't wish upon a hated enemy. I collapsed from pain more times than I can count.) Anyway, yes, it can widen out your hips (and your feet, and other bits) but you won't enjoy the process.
What the hell was that?!                 From every wound there is a scar,

I have to agree and disagree.  Relaxin is common in females at a much higher range than men.  Also it does cause the pelvis to loosen and stay wider for many women.  I am going to see a doctor next month and hopefully get a prescription for this.  Beyond the niceness of maybe widening the hips this should help with fibromyalgia as well as some sleep issues I have had all my life.  Also I think the risk of some pelvis discomfort would be worth the benefit in the long run.  Many trans women do really crazy risky things like inject free form silicone to form hips.  My personal thought is that we are missing some key hormones to really transitioning this being one of those.  That is part of the reason I would like to bring this forum back up.  Relaxin maybe we should have it.

Sorry for the bump, but has anyone actually tried this before? I remember taking progesterone once and had noticed that my pelvic area, particularly around my hips/pubic bone had ached quite hard throughout a week.  After, I had noticed that my hips had widened quite by a few inches further than their previous position.  I'm not sure if that was rotation of the pubic bone changing to make the hips come out more.  Other joints throughout my body had also ached quite a bit too during the time.

I'm wondering if there are ways to increase levels of Relaxin to acquire this effect again.
