I was told that excessive masturbation can effect the results of hrt. Just like smoking and drinking can render the effects. Just curious do anybody know if this holds any truth, and if so please explain why, or why not?

The straight answer is simple. No.

Indeed masturbation is recommended for MtF so that the donor tissue (for the neo-vagina) is supple and stretched.

The main dangers of smoking while on HRT is stroke and DVT. The dangers of drinking are liver damage.

Exactly!

To move forward is to leave behind that which has become dear. It is a call into the wild, into becoming someone currently unknown to us. For most, it is a call too frightening and too challenging to heed. For some, it is a call to be more than we were capable of being, both now and in the future.

I really don't how people can masturbate on medication, because after the first week of HRT I was not able to have an erection, and I would not wish to either :)

Yup. After HRT I lost almost completely any desire I had for masturbation...and it was the very first thing I have noticed after starting hormones, about one week after it!

For me excessive masturbation is not a problem. Not anymore.

I confess I was a bit exagerated sometimes and masturbate before going to bed was a part of my routine. Now I can pass weeks without even thinking about masturbating. Even when I think "well, why don't you go watch some porn and masturbate" the thought that I get back is "mehh, I'm not on the mood".

I don't get spontaneous erections when I wake up anymore! Amazing!

Even if I force myself to get an erection I don't feel the same as before. I am never on the mood. For me this is wonderfull, because I was tired of being a slave to my male genitals, always reminding me that I have the wrong genitals!

I hope that this won't bring me problems, but I think it will be alright!

How? Simple - we are all different.

And, from my own experiene, I think that most of the lack of erectile function in trans women is in their heads..

Lack of sex drive is not a female characteristic at all. Females have sex drives, too, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with using what you've got! There is no residual change in t level or anything like that. While there may be a spike/trough of t level after orgasm, it's not enough to affect feminization.

The best metaphor I can think of to describe it (given the thread topic ;)) would be like a spring that you pull and release (LOL). The height of the spring representing T level.. The spring gets pulled up higher than it's start position, bounces down lower than it was to start with, and eventually levels out to it's original baseline. A.k.a. no change because the trough down after counteracts the spike up.

Personally I do this almost every day and I am not ashamed to say it. Actually in some ways after HRT I feel like my sex drive is better- or at least more interesting to me- because now with the lack of ejaculation I have become easily multiorgasmic. If you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend!

I'm in agreement. I had close to zero T for years pre-op with no dysfunction.

I believe it keeps everything nice and stretched as well.  It's a good thing but I has to be in the mood so not quite everyday.

You're way off mark here.  You dont need T for an erection.  However, for some of us, the hormones will let you know straight up, hey, your need to fap, NOW!.  I also think its something many women dont understand about why men are so horny all the time.

Been taking adderall on and off all year that seem to crash my libido.  Only relief ive gotten from this yet.   It's not even that i dont enjoy it sometimes.  Its just a constant reminder everyday, not to mention spontaneous erections when you dont want them.  Or trying to hang out with female friends and keep your head straight even if you arent mentally interested in them.
