Okay, this is the written version of basically something I was pondering on the train today. I was looking at my phone when someone sat next to me, and immediately I knew it was an older, professional white lady just by the smell of her perfume (and yes, I was right). It seems like people in certain age groups and such wear certain kinds of sprays, leading me to wonder:

1) What kind of spray/cologne do you wear, if any?
      Old Spice (the original one) is typically associated with older men, while it seems like Axe is more favored among the younger crowd (though it makes me think of all the stoners I went to high school with) for body sprays and smelly deodorants. I am not sophisticated enough to know of any colognes that men would wear to write those down. Though, it seems like picking out the right spray/cologne would be important to passing. Like, if I went out in "girl mode" right now wearing an old-lady perfume, I am sure that would confuse some people (not confuse them as to whether or now I am female, but they'd probably wonder if my Grandmother attacked me with toiletries). I wouldn't want to buy a cologne and go out in "guy mode" and have it not match me at all. To guy who wear sprays, how did you pick one out?
     
I don't wear any sort of spray (and I don't wear deodorant either), because I think it's a waste of money. If you bathe regularly, you shouldn't need to smother yourself in sprays. Also, I think it detracts from the smells you naturally give off which are apparently supposed to help aid your inner-caveman into finding the right mate.

(There was a two, but I can't remember what exactly I wanted to ask )

Edit to add: Just in case I accidently insulted anyone, I didn't mean that everyone who wears sprays just doesn't shower enough. I used to date someone who always smelled like rotten meat, even when he just jumped out of the shower. It was a little disgusting, hence why we're no longer together. I said "smother" which in the perfume context usually means wearing something excessively, like those people who you can smell their perfume before you even see them walking toward you.

i smell amazing =p as for deodorant good ol' rexona sport does the job - i think people that don't wear deodorant are ****ing disgusting (no offense) wether you think you reek or not.. you would the second it got hot enough to sweat. YUCK.

Actually, I don't really sweat, like ever. Even when I lived in Florida. I am also not on T, if I was, I probably would wear it, because I am sure I'd sweat more.

Well, that's certainly your opinion, but I bathe regularly and still sweat enough to give off a tremendously unpleasant smell if I don't use deo.  I live in Australia and it's one of the hottest climates on Earth, so you pretty much need deo here.

I used to use Brut, but no matter how often I bathed or applied it, I stank through it.  So I switched to Rexona sport spray and I haven't smelled my B.O since.  I use Old Spice body spray after showering or bathing or just when I go out.

Same, coupled with the fact that I can only use hypoallergenic fragrance free deodorant, which I can't find a good brand of that doesn't stop working after a few minutes, I have to spray on a ton of body spray (Axe or Old Spice) and even then it doesn't help half the time.  I've taken back to wearing speed stick (which gives me a horrible red itch rash anywhere it touches, just because I got tired of feeling stressed out about smelling.

Maybe because I am autistic, but I don't like any fragrances. Always use the fragrance free. And then the most light smelling shampoos and the things that have smells to them.

I don't know if it's the fragrance or some other chemicals in regular deodorant, but I pretty much have no choice until I'm able to find a better hypo-allergenic deodorant.

I use Axe's stuff, I usually like their smells. Right now I got the Apollo one, it's quite nice.

But I know what you mean by smothering oneself in a body spray... I had one guy in my class in the vocational and he always smelled like he had sprayed half a can of some Axe variant on him... And let me tell ya, the mixture of that much Axe and sweat is a recipe of disaster.
We actually have a slang term for basically replacing showering with body sprays. :'D

roll on or spray deodorant when you have hairy armpits? Which is best and which brand to hide smell?

I use stick-deodorants that I steal from my dad :p No, I'm just to lazy to go out and buy them myself and I like the ones my dad buys for himself. We both don't like strong smells, and sort of have the same taste smellwise so. i think it's called Mennen or something. My brother smothers himself in axe and because of that I kind of hate Axesmells, overdose I guess
I prefer the stick (roll-on) ones because they don't spray all over your bathroom, and I think they work better. The one I use now (Mennen) works really well.

Coming from a mature (age, not behavior) perspective - I dont know anyone over 20 who wears axe. It is known for being a highschool / college smell and to me is not sophisticated at all. IF you love it, than go for it.

I used t wear aqua di gio (I am certain that is not how you spell it) and got alot of compliments. I no longer where it but I do shower and wear great smelling deodorant and aftershave lotion. I have been looking for a new scent but since none have appealed to me.

one of my roomates is 24 if I remember correctly and uses axe, but except the very few exceptions I agree with you saying it's popular among highschoolers

I have Marc Jacobs "Bang!", but I really want Blue Chanel.

I found that after I started T my body changed how it handled scents. It was more "man". Even though I was using mens stuff before starting T. Just something that was interesting.

So first of I love cologne, body spray, nicely scented hair products and such. I usually use herbal essence for shampoo or what ever my roomy brings home ( she works at a hair salon)

For cologne I've had a lot. My all time fave was dolce and gabbana: light blue but the one for woman! It was light and a little citrusy? but a lot of woman loved it . Also I got a lot of his using Cuba , it comes in a cigar case that also looks cool. It's heavily spiced I find. And I use chocolate axe.

For deo I use old spice but ive now switched to a gel because I find that the white sticks don't wash of really easily. I shower all the time I use fragrance to enhance the clean I have not to cover up anything! I guess it all comes down to finding a spray or cologne that mingles well with your bodies natural smell! What smells good on some men wont smell as good on others and this is something everyone should know! Go to the store and spray it on you in a hour it will smell totally different then how it smelled out of the bottle.

Probably because your hormones changed your natural musk. Any cologne applied after mingles with that musk to create a unique blend that is you! That's why a lot of people find that even though a spray smelled really good out of the bottle but when they wore it, it smelled not as good.

I use Old Spice swagger deoderant and body wash it smells really good, The cologne I use is Chrome, Ive gotten compliments on it lets me no that my cologne smells good to, Although I use to use axe it's cheap to me, I like expensive cologne like Acqua Di Gio, Which I'm gonna switch over to

Brutte aftershave, polo 42 cologne and deodorant. I only use axe when I work with my preschool kids during the summer and I happen to be sweaty to cover the smell when I absolutely need to. I personally hate the smell of axe but it works wonderful for covering smells.

I use pretty much any body wash, right now it's just Nivea. My shampoo I think is strawberry scented.

Typically I smell pretty good. My coworkers even tell me that smell nice even in the summer when I sweat.

Husband uses the same stuff, and I've noticed that we always smell better than anyone else on the public transit systems.

I have a vast array of scents that I regularly alternate between.

Bvlgari Notte, Armani Code, Silver Shadow, La Nuit De L'Homme, Kenneth Cole Black, Davidoff Hot Water, Intense Instinct... etc.
I find that I smell best in colognes that have spicy/woodsy scents and I often get compliments from men and women alike. I always find my girlfriend snuggling with/wearing my shirts and sniffing them like coke.

I switch between axe (phoenix), Old spice swagger, right guard deo and dial soap, gillette deo and soap. I generally get body washes that have 2-in-1 if not I use head and shoulders.

Colognes are:
Polo Black
Kenneth Cole Black
Kenneth Cole Reaction
And Euphoria for Men

I like variety 

i do smell, so i tried deo few years back, yeah before i knew of the trans stuff. so i bought a ladies deo and tried a few times and thought i smelt so wrong in it. i didnt want to smell like that, and i gave it up. parents wouldn't let me buy mens deos or shampoo saying they're too rough for my skin, so i picked no deo and my natural smell over smelling like a girl. i don't pay much attention on what shampoo i use, since i can't really smell my hair on the top of my head.
I read an article once that said one tip for being attractive for girls is to establish your own smell. so i tried several kinds of ladies body sprays over the years and could find nothing that smelt right, until i tried dad's. since then ive been using the kind dad uses, called morabito (dont know how popular it is for the rest of the world, but dad and i stick to it) my friends comment about it, that i smell nice or that i smell so manly etc. feels good
