LOL... If my extensive cartoon watching experience has taught me anything... boys have the same rule about girlz, and that rule counts doubly for tree forts!

Can anyone tell me specifically what's unpassable about my face? I sometimes think I'm passable, but then I get doubtful if I look long enough. But I can't really figure out what it is about my face that keeps me from passing. The usual things I use to judge male or female don't seem to apply to me (muscular, angular face, wide jawline, small lips). Can anyone help me out??

Riversong,
I was hoping some of the other gals who are generally more adept at these critiques would submit some comments. I re-examined your photos and honestly don't see anything that really screams male at me. You have a nice face, feminine chin and jawline, good cheekbones and pleasant smile. You may have a little brow bossing, it's hard to tell as it's rather faint and some time on female HRT is liable to make that a non-issue. The bridge of your nose is quite broad, but that's an ethnic characteristic, you can learn to diminish that statement using makeup so as not to draw undue attention to that as an outstanding facial feature. You're neck size isn't masculine and I get an impression that you will have a nice figure when the magic medicine has done it's work. Other than that like I previously said, shape the eyebrows and grow a nice girly mane of hair and you should be good to go. Hope this helps hon, I gave it my best honest opinion.  xox ~Shan~

Being completely honest, looking at the first picture, I wasn't sure about whether you would pass easily or not. But as you said, you don't have any ultra masculine characteristics screaming out!

Then in the second picture  with make up, I honestly don't think I would give you a second thought if I passed you in the street. You actually remind me of a very pretty girl from Zinbabwe who was in my biology class last year. I will show you a picture of her face if I can remember her name and find her on Facebook!

Good luck:)

I don't think that you DON'T pass per se I just think it would depend on how you were presenting your self? Like if I saw you in a more traditionally female outfit an maybe the hair style ( thought the scarf works too) I would say pass. But if I saw you in something a little more androgynous I might have a harder time. Your face doesn't have any hard masculine features that I see!

So what do you guys think of how I'm looking plus might I ask for some suggestions with this hair of mine? It's been almost eleven months since I started on hormones and almost four since a a higher dose. I feel like I'm beginning to show some more progress with my looks though my voice is much left to be desired yet somehow I'm comfortable with it being nondescript. Just would like some honesty as how my face looks and what I can do, I'll get a body shot later ;)...well an SFW one :P

You look very feminine, it's the hair that's keeping it from a definite. You've been on hormones for eleven months... You've been keeping it trimmed, haven't you? Let it grow, cheyla! If you trim it, you're just dragging out the awkward stage. You need to let it grow unchecked for at least two years before even thinking about coming near it with scissors.

This is me at roughly fourteen months of hair growth. Please excuse the obvious dude face, this is like, the very day after I came out. It's the only picture I could find with moderately straight hair.

Most everyone looks better with long hair, male or female. That's what I always say.

I think that you have a great face to boot, and when your hair grows out longer, Im sure you will be even more feminine. I see a feminine face already but how is it from the side to. Based on this picture, I believe that you have a better face than me. I think I suffer from having a big nose and a wider than acceptable chin which I can't see in this picture.

First real attempt at passing...how do I do?

My biggest issue is my chin, but I guess it could be worse!

Any advice from you lovely people? :)

I have the same worry about my chin as well. But on HRT, it has reshaped a little and softened up. Not due to the bone changing but from the fat, muscle, and everything changing, as well as the fact that I lost a lot of weight. Just as I have been thinking, and maybe you have thought, that our chins are too wide for a woman's chin. But the reality is yes, maybe it is wider than the average woman's chin, but there are plenty of women out the that have chins like us. Even Marilyn Monroe had a chin that was wider than the average woman's and she was considered  one of the most beautiful ladies of her time.

Have you started on HRT or considering HRT? HRT has changed the complexion of my skin, and has made my face not looked so squared, and has help my overall passing level greatly. Have you had any hair removal on your face?? I ask about the hair removal because from the photos, i believe I see a shadow on the chin area which definitely does not look feminine. To me, I cant see any make up on but I believe that if you put foundation on, covered up the blemishes on your face, had eyeliner on and had longer hair, you would do just fine. If this is your face pre-HRT, even more so. :)

I hope this helps.

You pass just fine in both. Heck, you'd pass even here http://s1366.photobucket.com/user/NatalieT123/media/image201311170010_zps2ddd3853.jpg.html?sort=3&o=3
if you only got rid of the 5 o'clock shadow and styled your hair differently. Which is what you actually did in the later pics.
No need to worry about your chin, it's nothing unusual or out of the norm for females. The only thing that does stick out is skin-related, namely shaving left-overs and your complexion. I asume you haven't started HRT? HRT and hair removal will remedy those and then you'll be out in the clear.
I've found it takes love to make or do something, and without love it's senseless; void, empty, vain.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I could do in order to help pass appearance wise. No make-up in this photo. I do know my brows are a bit thick and unshaped. I'm having my hair done soon. This pic is a bit over exposed. Oh and I am 3.5 months on low dose E and half a month on spiro.
Byes!!!! It's been real but this place isn't for me. Good luck in the future everyone.

I really does help I think, hopefully pretty soon you wont be able to help it!  Some of my friends have commented that since stating hrt I and coming out the perpetual frown that used to planted onmy face has been replaced with a grin/smile.

Other than that you already mentioned the other things that spring to mind - hair and eyebrows and whatnot.  ;D

You are rather nice looking Hayley and a confident cheery smile would definitely further enhance your already very pretty features  :)  I think your eyebrows are fine and experimenting with various hair styles can be fun
