QuoteWhat would 129lbs with a height of 5'9" qualify as?
Anorexic in IMNSHO.
It depends on height, frame size, and age too, but 130# @ 5'9" is way low.
It speaks to the cartoonish image we have of women as promugated in Hollywood.
(i.e. you is fat and ugly if you don't look like this)
They are killing our young women, and even men are becoming susceptible to the disease now in greater numbers.
Now 130# at 5'5" sounds healthier looking, but it depends on exercise and diet too, not just statistics. I think at 5'9", you could weigh around 170# or better depending on your body type, frame size, muscle mass, etc. and still look very healthy.
Our perception of ourself is always different than what other people see. Especially so when we are in the throes of a disease like anorexia. You lose the ability to think rationally.
I know that I am overweight
now because I am carrying a paunch for the first time in my life. [No! not the guy from Chips!] It's gross. But
back then, I felt that I was fat when I weighed 140#, which was completely irrational. That is a full 80# less than I weigh now. And I eventually went far below 140#.
This is a tipping point that you can reach where you slide from extremely thin to unhealthy. It varies from person to person, but it sounds as if you are targeting it. If you go there, it will kill you. I was lucky, very lucky, to come back. But it affects your body for the rest of your life.
Concentrate more on how healthy you look, rather than how you look wearing this or that. many styles of clothing make everyone look heavy. But, when you are alone and nekid, or with someone and almost nekid, you can see whether you look healthy or not. Anorexic women look skinny, not healthy. And what good is looking skinny if you can't do anything, and nobody wants you?
