actually, there is... how can we live in a world with no right or wrong without it implodeing? nice sentiment, but impractical as hell.

I meant no right or wrong when it comes to simply living our lives day to day without hurting anybody.

There is no absolute right or wrong. Only relative ones, each person's own neutral position for everething is different, that's where most disagreement start.

what the point in spotting trans folks?
heck, i had some woman on the bus yesterday who looked like a m2f winking at me and grinning, it was disconcerting, annoying and scary...
(i was in androgenous mode so she probably thought i was a crap f2m ><

Rachael, I'v had other mtf's (2, anyway) give me the winky-dink. They were like me....lesbian mtf.  nuthin unusuall there  :).

Otherwise, I get the look every day from a variety of gg lesbians.
Thanks, girls....an old lady needs a lift sometimes :)

Are you trying to torment me?  Because, if you are, I'm okay with that.

Dammit, Candi!  Now look what you've done.  What did she look like? How tall? How old?........hafta watch out from now on, 'cause I don't want it to be my turn to be "it" in public...

I don't like hearing that awful tag 'TRANSPEOPLE'....it's like some alien from Star trek.....these are ordinary everyday people who may or may not have changed gender...

I think the point of this topic is that are people recognised as someone who has transitioned. I think some are easily recognised as their transition was harder than others depending on their size, shape, bone structure etc..

Probably a large per cent go unoticed and are not read as such which is really what we are all aiming for......which is what a transition is, going from one gender to another...

this topic makes trans folk seem like a 3rd visible gender, cant we just see men and women?

I tend to observe what is going on around me, so yes, I have noticed other people.  Do I go up to them, seek them out?  No.

As far as I am concerned they are just other people who are at the mall (or wherever).  If someone waves to me, I wave back, if someone greets me, I greet them back.  But, I am somewhat of a private person (some call it shy) so I don't usually make the first move.

Thanks Rachael....you put it across better than I did....

I do detest the words 'Trans people'.....they're not aliens from another planet...they are ordinary people......I prefer being called a 'female' or 'woman' not a 'trans person' ......it sounds like a freak and I ain't no freak....

but Berliegh, were a group to be looked out for... no trans person can pass as long as the ->-bleeped-<-stapo are searching for us with thier binoculars and sniper scopes! your being watched and identified!

come on, gimmie a break, i bet half the 'trans' people you see, arnt, and its your over active brains seeing masculine or feminine features which non trans folk dont notice or CARE about... natal males and females can have features of the other gender. its called genetics, its what makes us look differnet...

To me, the subject is
QuoteDoes anyone here actually look out for trans people while out and about?
which, to me, means; do you actively make a conscious effort to find transpeople (I like the word) out in the world when you are out and about doing your normal activities?

I see no connotation as transpeople being freaks or even the implication of "do you look for transpeople the same way some people look for Bigfoot?"   I definitely do not see it implied that "when you find a transperson, do you shout out to them?"

Also, I am neither a man nor a woman I am the freak that you fear heh heh heh heh  >:D

When I was scared of being alone in the world, I did keep an eye out for others because I needed to know that we are here and we are a part of this society.  There is no reason to think of the question as being belittling to people, in my opinion.

just saying.  Don't make me pull this guy out again ---->  >:(

And what about those that obviously blend the gender lines, whether it is because of a tough transition or just because they want to?  We are not all men or women...some of us do not fit those categories.  Of course, we may be the easiest to spot because we aren't either of those.

->-bleeped-<-stapo...LMAO...gee, I just thought I was looking at people trying to figure out if I wanted to ask them out.

This has got to be the funniest thing I have read in a long time.  But Bev may be right...everybody keep their eyes open in case you are the next one to be "It".

And, while it is true the thread did drift a little, and had a kind of dark feeling for a while, I think the bottom line is that most folks look at people.  We all look and, right or wrong, make assumptions about them based solely on their appearance.  Is she a real blonde?  Oh honey, do something about those nails.  Hey, they make a cute couple.  I like that outfit, she must have good taste...and the list goes on and on.  Assigning a "boy", "girl", or "other" label may not be fair, but it is human.

Ya put your right foot in.  You put your right foot out.  You put your right foot in and you shake it all about.  You do the Andro-gyney and you turn yourself around.  That's what it's all about.

I did make the same point earlier Rachael......I don't think the ->-bleeped-<-stapo would put me in their list......luckily I've never been identified as such.
