I don't like hearing that awful tag 'TRANSPEOPLE'....it's like some alien from Star trek.....these are ordinary everyday people who may or may not have changed gender...

I think the point of this topic is that are people recognised as someone who has transitioned. I think some are easily recognised as their transition was harder than others depending on their size, shape, bone structure etc..

Probably a large per cent go unoticed and are not read as such which is really what we are all aiming for......which is what a transition is, going from one gender to another...

I tend to observe what is going on around me, so yes, I have noticed other people.  Do I go up to them, seek them out?  No.

As far as I am concerned they are just other people who are at the mall (or wherever).  If someone waves to me, I wave back, if someone greets me, I greet them back.  But, I am somewhat of a private person (some call it shy) so I don't usually make the first move.

When I was scared of being alone in the world, I did keep an eye out for others because I needed to know that we are here and we are a part of this society.  There is no reason to think of the question as being belittling to people, in my opinion.

And what about those that obviously blend the gender lines, whether it is because of a tough transition or just because they want to?  We are not all men or women...some of us do not fit those categories.  Of course, we may be the easiest to spot because we aren't either of those.

This has got to be the funniest thing I have read in a long time.  But Bev may be right...everybody keep their eyes open in case you are the next one to be "It".

And, while it is true the thread did drift a little, and had a kind of dark feeling for a while, I think the bottom line is that most folks look at people.  We all look and, right or wrong, make assumptions about them based solely on their appearance.  Is she a real blonde?  Oh honey, do something about those nails.  Hey, they make a cute couple.  I like that outfit, she must have good taste...and the list goes on and on.  Assigning a "boy", "girl", or "other" label may not be fair, but it is human.

I did make the same point earlier Rachael......I don't think the ->-bleeped-<-stapo would put me in their list......luckily I've never been identified as such.
