So.. earlier today I get a facebook message from my ex-girlfriend in high school asking if I was now a woman, saying she heard rumors. I guess my mom told someone and it spread through my hometown. We talked for a while and she said it really came as no shock to her. I'm going to go out with her tonight to a drag show. I'm crazy nervous. This is my first time since full-time with someone that far back in my past. I know it's probably all in my head and things are going to go fine. I've changed outfits about 20 times in the past couple of hours. I've settled on this;

Good, bad? I want to make a good impression on her. I'm not interested in her other than friends, she's just someone that I really liked a lot. We were pretty much best friends before and after we dated.
That outfit looks really great on you. I also love your glasses.   8)

Apologies for the blurry low quality of these, but I got a couple of new dresses this evening and just had to share! Better quality over the weekend. I need to grow into the floral print in the boob area (or pad a bit), other than that not a bad fit for internet purchases.

I think you look great :)

I really like that second pic, looks very natural and your smile is so nice...but there's something a bit 'forced' about your pose on the 1st pic that that makes you look a bit awkward

Thanks! Yeah I hate taking mirror shot selfies, the first one was me getting the feel for it without cutting my head off (I took several most are blurry or decapitated), by the time I got to the little black dress I was feeling a bit looser and sillier... plus I love that dress more than I thought I would when I bought it and it feels so great on - so that might explain it!  ;)

Oh my Ms Grace, but you are a pretty thing in a dress, love them both!

Thanks Aunty Shan... I'm a big fan of basic black but also love strong colourful patterns that aren't too gaudy or over the top. I love colours too but from what I've observed they really need to be coordinated properly, some cis women do it wonderfully, some not so much! There are a number of women where I work who have a really nice fashion sense, and because most of them are in their 50s it tends to be classy and understated but beautiful. Since I'll be 50 in another three years (sniff) I figure I should follow their lead. There are a 29 and 32 year old at work and what they wear can be very pretty too. The younger one in particular can really dress with strong colours and looks so stunning.

I like your thinking, after all if you want to blend in with the cis population you need to have fashion sense and also dress age appropriately in public. I never quite get over how some people always complain vehemently about being read, pointed at and whispered about, but when one is forty or fifty years old we don't go out in public dressed like a teenager or wearing huge fashion bloopers without getting an adverse reaction from onlookers.

I agree 100% with this.  This is a common theme within the online T community I see over and over again.  I'll never understand it either.  "Ummmm, No hun, at your age...those 5 inch heels and that micro-mini aren't going to help you blend in all that well..."  :o

I was talking with some coworkers about drag queens (their terms) it wasn't demeaning but they were making a little fun out of them...I was somewhat uncomfortable since it led to conversations about transsexuals and no one is aware that I AM ONE!!!

I did make them laugh when I said.... you can always spot the drag queen...she's the one wearing the dress!!

Its not that women don't wear dresses...its just we usually have a purpose to wear one other than at a Walmart at 10:00 pm on a Saturday night! LOL

I think I am invisible to almost everyone. Everyone ignores me at work, which is nice I guess. They all flock to the 2 pretty girls who work next to me and chat with them. I've even had a trans woman tell me she had no idea I was trans until I told her. So maybe I should go stealth?
I just dress for the task at hand for the most part.

EXACTLY!
I mean...it's not rocket science...take a look around when you're at the grocery store or Walmart, Target or somewhere like that.  Look at how women are dressed.  You want a similar look, if you hope to look normal and blend in...and hopefully not get sneered at!  I'm new in this...but learning there are pretty distinct differences between styles of TS vs. crossdressers.  5 inch platform pumps clicking thru the frozen food section won't go un-noticed... ;)

I say wear what makes you feel comfortable and/or excited to be 'you'. "Bad" style choices are dictated by cultural norms, and not everyone agrees or cares to abide. All the more power to everyone, it's a free world!

If someone wanted to wear 5" heels at 10pm at a Wal-Mart I wouldn't blink an eye. In fact I might just look at my feet and feel a little inferior  Comfortable heels are the best.

So I dyed my hair a different shade of red, this time it's a bit darker.  I like it, but I miss the brightness I got last time... :-\

It looks fantastic! You look beautiful!

This is me without any make up on. I took these this morning so
that I can get an idea how I might look for work. My boobs are
real, but I have a push up bra that does wonders. Can I pass
w/o worry now???

Critics and complementors, please tell me the truth, I am a big girl,
I can handle it. I am thinking of going full time next week when I
get my hair extensions instead of waiting until the end of December.
Please tell me what ya'll think.
Wow, Looking fantastic girl!
