Oh my, what a beautiful woman you already are Thylacin! All of your features are exceptional to begin with, lovely smile and beautiful eyes and those glasses work so well for you too dear.

Ok, my turn.

This is the lazy-staying-at-home me with only a touch of foundation to hide redness on my upper lip from electrolysis ( three weeks ago ). No other make up, and haven't done much with hair etc. I'm at 3.5 months effective HRT ( 8.5 real months ), T levels were still normal male range prior to 3.5 months ago.

wow im jealous of your cheeks, there so cute, you have such a naturally accepting female face, and that is without hormones!!!? after a year on hrt i wouldn't doubt if you ever get clocked, just grow your hair out, the wig is your only tell imo

Thanks so much :D
Yeah, the wig was a cheap one off amazon, just to play around with. My natural hair is thinning on top, I'm trying to get it to thicken with minoxidil (and hopefully HRT will help, starting in about a month! Once I get one last personal thing taken care of). It sucks that my natural hair won't do. I really wish it did.

Here's another of me, in boy mode, bleh, just for comparison and to show my natural hair (yeah, it's bad :().

You look great! Totally pass. Your face has a nice feminine shape.

Thanks so much! It's so great to hear that. I've gone so long feeling gross about my appearance. Finally being open about who I am has done so much for me.

@Thylacin

Your facial features are fantastic, especially your chin. That last photo is just gorgeous and completely natural.

You are going to knock em dead girl!   :o

Thanks :D
My chin is one thing I worry about needing FFS for (along with my nose, brow, and jawline).
I look forward to seeing the changes I get after a few years on HRT. I'm hoping for the best. Ready for the worst, and these responses to my pictures make me feel better about not worrying too much about what I end up getting out of HRT, well, except for the rest of my  body, lol.

Hair lost from male pattern baldness and/or genetic pre-disposition will not come back to any satisfactory extent, however it's nothing to obsess over. Eventually a few nice wigs will do the trick, there are so many of us in the same boat, it has a lot to do with why I'm wearing a hat in my avatar. You have a lot of nice features to be thankful for, yes eventually you may need a little FFS but don't we all? You'll do well Thylacin!

Thylacin: I think you've already got quite a natural head-start and are very pretty! :) For passing? I would say yes. ...Until someone mentioned it I didn't quite realize your long hair was a wig - though IMHO something with longer/messier bangs might help a little bit. That smile of yours in you-mode, and lack of in boy-mode: Keep up that smile, it's super cute and I can tell is heartfelt. Girls like you make me wish I needed glasses, they're adorable!

SammyRose: If I were you I'd not worry about passing! You are beautiful. :) Side note, your avatar: Omg, I love Belldandy to death! :D

SammyRose,
You could pass for any cis woman on her quick trip to get the kids off to school sans makeup. You might want to start using some good under-eye moisturizing cream before bed at night and resist rubbing your eyes. If you're not doing a lot of alcoholic beverages that skin will eventually respond and tighten back up. Basically you are off to a nice start girlfriend!  :)

Thylacin,
IMHO, you should wait to see how well you're doing after a couple of years of HRT, especially as I've seen chins soften SIGNIFICANTLY.  Your brow bossing doesn't seem excessive, either, based on the closeups. I personally think you'll do VERY well.  For pre-HRT, you're actually outstanding.  I can pretty safely say that you would pass easily right now without much more than a better wig or straightening/brushing out your existing wig.  You'd need to watch your mannerisms and how you carry yourself (posture, walking gait, etc.), but I can't anticipate anyone giving you hassles based on these pictures.  You could least get out and be "you" and go shopping, to the movies, or anything else where close personal contact isn't essential.

@Thylacin - I agree with Carol. Also, without my wig (snif) I'm in the same boat as you. I'm using minoxidil with some pretty hopeful and promising results in combo with the HRT, so stay tuned. If you had told us it was a wig I would never have guesses, I love bangs and although I'm not a fan of the way you're wearing them in those pics it is a common style amongst some women and as such looked totally normal.

So I put on "full" make up for the first time today, and took a few pictures with a crummy cheapo wig badly tossed onto my on my head to hide my thin man hair(:() Keep in mind I have the make up applying skills and knowledge of a pre teen girl (i.e. I don't know what I'm doing!) :( lol

I'm very early in transition, pre-hrt. I've done two sessions of face laser hair removal, plucked my eyebrows.

Of course, an obligatory "angled" picture, lol:

Ah!
Oh this is terrifying. This is the first time anyone beside me has seen me trying to be in me mode (i.e., not in boy mode lol).
Well, even with your self-critical teenage girl's make-up skills or not you seem to do just fine! :)
You have a very nice and gentle face that's just dying for some HRT. Let's face it, you're going to be stunning when you get it started. It will smooth out the remaining few superficial vestiges of testosterone influence on your face and then you will be a flawless beauty. And I mean that, you already look 100% female.
Plus, you're very lucky you wear that haircut so nicely and there probably a dozen more styles that you could try and pull of just as easily.

Wish you the very best in your transition.

Love and Hugs,
Vanya.

Thanks. I kinda threw the wig on without arranging it, since I originally had no intentions for the pictures other than for myself. What style of bangs do you like? I have very little (i.e. no) knowledge of how to wear hair, hehe, suggestions would be nice!

Hello girls!

Sorry to be posting again (I already posted here around one month ago, but I was in boy mode). I am on HRT for more than 2 months now and this is the first time I try seriously a girl mode, but it is just a beta version....

And yes, I don't have a clue about making a good make-up, as can be noticed! lol

But I'd appreciate a few sincere opinions. How bad am I for a "beta version"? :)

Think Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction! Wow, I love that look! Basically the fringe is closer to the eyebrows and the hair at the side covers the ears.

I've been on hormones for 14 months now... I couldn't get a wig for the longest, so I've been reluctant to post here. I finally got one day before yesterday and had my wife help me with some make up.

My chin is one thing I worry about needing FFS for (along with my nose, brow, and jawline).

We are the worst critics of ourselves. I do not see any issues with Your chin, nose and jawline, in fact, they are perfect :). In a much better shape than the one from which I started and I dont see those parts as issues for me now. Your brow is kinda same as mine - it gets worse under certain lighting, yes?  Well, HRT smoothens and thins out Your skin, so You can expect quite a decrease there, plus Your facial muscles (and there are many in the brow area btw) will melt too. And I have seen many many cis-women who have worse brow than we do and they do not pay any attention to that - they do not need that surgery for self-affirmation.

@SammyRose - wow, You basically pass already now, lol :)

@phillyside - I know one cis-girl who looks exactly like You in Your first picture. Smiling helps too (yeah, I know that is considered now an oppressive remark to ask someone to smile :) ).

@Natalia - two months on hormones is pretty much nothing (even 6-7 months are nothing btw). I think You have a good start and will get there, but You might consider rhinoplasty at some time within next two years (me too, btw).

You look like my friend Jillian. Except she has longer hair.
I'm not here to decorate your world.

Catherine Tate!

It's been driving me nuts.  Thylacin, in the wig you are reminding me of a younger looking Catherine Tate.

When I was a little kid I fell and broke my nose, but I don't remember it. My mother didn't want the doctor to fix my nose because it would be very painfull...and I ended with a nose right-turned...She should have allowed the doctor to fix it, because I would not remember. Well, anyway, I think my nose would still be bad even if I did not fall that day. Luckily there is FFS available, I only need the money now lol
