Just curious as to what people's hip measurements are/were, pre-HRT (if you remember or haven't started) and during HRT. And for those of you who have been on hormones for quite some time, have you noticed a big change in your hip fat deposits?

I am an old thang and the women in my family generally have modest hips.  I don't expect much change there.  Being on HRT x 9 months has had little perceptible impact on my hip size so far but sheesh I had decades of what I now consider testosterone poisoning and my pelvis is likely set.   We will see how the future turns out but i love the overall changes thus far.  Dresses and skirts can flatter any figure and skinny jeans easy to wiggle in to still.

Well I can say that a pair of jeans I got this time last year were rather loose on me and now they fit snugly :D

I was a slim fit male and my slacks used to fit me loose on the hip and bootie. 9 months on HRT, I've lost  weigt  BUT my slacks are now very tight at the waist and my bootie has filled out the rear. Its normal and the amount of change depends on your genetics. Have a great holiday season :)

Yep massive difference for me. Pre-hrt I was about 33, a year and a half later, I'm at 40. My bones in that area have widened. My doctor was pretty surprised and I surely wasn't expecting my pelvis to change at all since I started at 21. Also my fat seems to go straight to my hips/thighs. So jean shopping has turned into more of a nightmare but I love my hips nonetheless!!

I am a bit more interested in on how well HRT reduces your waist size, how effective is it in doing that?

Aina are you kidding us?  I only wish HRT reduced waist sizes ;)  My weight has been up and down 10 pounds or more and this season of eating too well and less exercise isn't helping.

I have a bit of hip definition, some of that remained from my first attempt but sees to have been built on since then. I've kind of been avoiding measurements - just going by appearance.

Yeah my waist is starting to suffer since I started gaining weight and not doing any kind of situps consistently enough. Which will be changing soon!

Nope, I am just curious because I feel, if I can shave a few inches or more off my waist I'd have some nice curves...just wishing... ;D

o_o That's a big difference! I'm 27, so I'm guessing maybe I won't get change like that. I'm already at 41-42" and I don't have tooo much fat around there. Like, I can still feel my hip bones if I poke a lil bit. I'm hoping that as I lose weight, what I lose will just come right back from the hormones, so I won't actually gain anything on my hips. I've been trying to figure out 'normal' hip sizes for both men and women, and I see stuff in the 30's way more than 40's. I think mine are a good size, but now I feel like maybe they're bigger than I thought. I don't want to get too pear-shaped! D;

And is jean shopping really that bad for you? I haven't bought any yet, but I've been assuming that they would fit me better than guy jeans because of women's hips naturally being wider...

Just depends on your height and how much muscle mass you have. Like I barely had any muscle mass when I started hrt, so the fat just went where it needed to go. So you might just actually lose a bit then gain it back on your hips. But its pretty much all dependent on genetics.

And yes jean shopping is a serious pain more so than ever before. It takes a ton of trial and error. And since I'm still going through "puberty" I have no idea what my average size will be. So I only have one pair that fit still but just barely. I bought these jeans about 6months ago too :( Need to go shopping asap!

just to give you an idea check this link out. I found a lot of it to be true

This happened to me last time. My current endo claims it can be a side effect of Androcur which I'm not on this time.

As a male my waist was 29 my hips were 33. Now my hips have expanded to 34 my waist has shifted and is now 30+ and there is a new waist that that is higher. I always wore somewhat tight fitting slacks and now they really fit snugly - too snugly. Male slacks fit differently now. This is all complicating my stealth mode.

I've had a modest difference... by the measurements I started at 29w/34h and now at the same exact weight (after a fluctuation up almost 20lbs and back) I am at 26w/36h.

I'd like to think that my pelvis has widened, but I really don't think it has. It just looks that way because my waist went in so much. Either way, I am incredibly happy about it.

My diet consists mainly of brown/wild rice, avocado, coconut oil, egg, and veggies of all sorts. I do eat meat occasionally and chocolate is always mind blowing- but I try to keep that in check!

I've been on the motherload dose of estrogen and moderate dose of progesterone for 12 months and I'm fairly active with cycling.

my waist is at 29 right now. It should be smaller but with recent weight gains its tough. I know I could probably get it down to 28 or 27 if I actually started working out every day and dieted correctly. However I'm enjoying my carefree diet at the moment  ;D

I know how that is all too well. I remember when my guy pants started to look so awkward on me. So I'd constantly wear massive shirts to cover my curves/waist area.

Hey Jenny! I keep hearing amazing things about coconut oil. Like its some wonder drug! lol I know you can use it for your hair and skin. But what foods do you use it in and do you have any recipes for it??

I need to stop reading threads like this, they just end up depressing me. :'( I currently have 36" hips, 42" shoulders, a 36" chest, and am carrying most of my fat on my stomach. I want to get an orchiectomy (especially if androcur is putting weight on my stomach :o) and start on full dose estrogen ASAP, but even then I don't think I will ever have a very feminine figure. It's especially frustrating since large hips actually run in the family on my mom's side.

I just find it funny that I've gained about 20lb and now I really just look like a curvy b**ch! my measurements now, though I don't have any previously are 39" hips 32" waist and 37" chest. My shoulders are still a bit big but not as prominant thanks to the hips! Overall I' really happy with how my body is now and excited for the future!
