Ah, you, too. My therapist suggested that I put a picture of myself in with the "supplementary materials" and not with the letter, since I don't want my father to see the photo before I actually come out to him.

The trouble is, I don't have an actual picture of myself...don't even have a camera anymore. Just about everyone I know does digital pictures, too, so I'm not even sure how to go about getting a real picture of myself. Not sure what to do about this, and I feel rather stupid about it. Help?

Any place that does pictures can make a print for you from any format, Arch. Have a friend take a cell phone picture and email it to you. We found an embarrassing old slide of our boss in plaid flood pants, Walgreen's converted it and put it on a disk for us for a couple dollars. Blackmailing the boss? Priceless.

I keep forgetting about disposable cameras. Wish you'd said this a day or two ago. Still, maybe I can get someone to snap a few cell phone shots at the Christmas gathering tomorrow. I'm always shy in front of a camera, and I dread asking anyone. If only I could clone myself for the day and take the pictures myself...

I sent the letter before I took off for Christmas at my friend's. No going back now. And I asked one of the dinner guests to snap a couple of pics of me. He hasn't e-mailed them to me yet, so I'll probably have to drop him a message.

I think I'll move back into a Just for Us forum for any further discussion. I'm not comfortable talking about it out in the open.

I probably came out the worst way possible lol I ended up going to see my friend who lives in Michigan, was suppose to be there only 9 days, turned it into three weeks, her uncles were gay, so i figured maybe they can help me out, needless to say my coming out was over the phone in a different state, crying and my mom crying, telling me to come home, I actually didn't want to come home cause i felt so accepted where I was, probably not the best way to let my mom know, I wanted to be a guy, but now I'm home and going to see a therapist
