Who else specifically gets insomnia at random times? I don't get it on a regular basis, but occasionally it just happens. It seems to happen when I'm anxious and lost in thought, anyone else have similar experiences with this? And how is your night going everyone? :)

Cindy

Always!  I wake up screaming on many nights, scares the crap out of BF

For me it is past experiences.

It does happen occasionally when there's something bugging or worrying me, but I think that's kinda normal. My mum is exactly the same...

Otherwise I'm feeling sore from about 9 hours shopping today... It's exhausting trying on so many outfits!

Oh wow Cindy, I'm sorry to hear that, do you have night terrors? I had an ex gf who had them.

Yeah I guess I'm just lost in thought, confused, but that's nothing new :P haha

Hey trying on outfits sounds like a good way to get exhausted though, beats manual labor :P

It really is an endurance activity. And it certainly didn't help my credit card...

Girls, plastic just begs to be worn out! That's why they make credit cards out of plastic!

Not too great honestly. This has set a record for the worst Christmas I have ever had, and last Christmas my father nearly died of pneumonia... I don't even want to talk about it right now, I just want to get some sleep and forget the rest of the world even exists for a little bit.

Dysphoric insomnia, it's been really bad for the past week or so.

I wish my night was going better. Thinking mostly about my day tomorrow, being my birthday and all, with my parents making plans for it that I don't really care about.

"Which movie do you want to see? Frozen, or Saving Mr. Banks?" I'm asked.
Neither, I say, I don't want to see a movie.
"Oh come on, you love movies!"
Not really. All I want is one day to be Willow, not him. And maybe some clothes and shoes. Not male clothes, though.
Hey, you've reached Lauren's signature! If you have any questions, want to talk, or just need a shoulder to cry on, leave me a message, and I'll get back to you.

If the neighbours are quiet I sometimes like to be in bed by ten and can sleep 8-9hours but other times I am quite happy to stay up till 2-3 and have just 4hours sleep.
For a year or so after the 1964? Tokyo Olympics I used to stay up till 2am just to hear radio station sign off with their theme tune of Tokyo Melody.
Juts listened to it on Youtube and it does sound very dated and contrived so goodbye Tokyo melody.

With HRT I can fall asleep immediately and I get sound sleep :) . I sleep for 4 or sometimes 5 hours then awake. My mind is silent of

all but one thought, me. Most mornings are just tears with some that are much more. My wife sleeps at the other end of the house

and has for the 20 years of our marriage; so, she has no idea.

Sometimes I get random bouts of somnia interspersed among my normal days of 6-8 hours sleep deprivation.

I don't like those. I get bad dreams. Very bad dreams. And flashbacks to something which is vague in terms of imagery but super-intense in terms of feeling. Something which causes me to shiver uncontrollably and want to vomit. :(

Sleep, in my opinion, is overrated.

As you my sister the screams are better than the terror.

Tonight is a tough one, I wish I could scream, I'm lost in hell tonight

:-\ I fall asleep easily and sleep very deeply. Dreams feel like they last a whole other day now since I've started HRT. I take my second dose of E about 2-3 hours before I go to bed, so I attribute it to that, but who knows.. ???

I had an adult lifetime as a shift worker first in the army and up "on guard" every other night.  Then nights doing railroad work and finally a 30+ year career as an anesthetist where emergencies and babies happen when ever they like.

Permanently ruining ones circadian rhythm takes time.   Sleep cycles are better known, respected and treated now.  Insomnia can take a toll on us and then there are genius levels of inspiration and creativity that spring from living out of sequence to others?  Sleep, perchance to dream and, in those dreams find answers and understanding.   The light of day comes soon enough.

Dream on.....
