So since im still pre srs i have to ask, how does it feel being able to simply pull up your panties without having to fix a tuck, or have a piece of tape snag on your panties.....or better yet be able to cross your legs without anything getting crushed in the process?

I know this probably sounds like a stupid question but im just wondering for when i finally get to have my surgery.
Thanks.
Kari.

Having spent so many years having to tuck, it's a sheer relief. It makes me feel euphoric.

I tucked as well as was physically possible, doing all the tricks. Nevertheless, it never looked smooth and was noticeable, to me, even in not-so-tight straight leg jeans. This was a great source of dysphoria and confidence killing for me.

Yes, underwear now looks normal. I stopped buying lingerie years ago because it looked plain stupid and caused greater dysphoria. A g-string pre-op?! Only now do I understand the purpose of a g-string.

I noticed by bum in jeans looks different now. I get a nice bum cleavage as I don't have all those tight knickers deforming and contorting its shape. And I look overall more shapely.

And as has been said, short tops! I can't stop buying new stuff too.

Sorry, I could rave about this all day and into next year. But it has made a radical change in my life.

For several days I had to actively suppress the habit of attempting to tuck.  I would pull up my underpants and then reach down to position myself.  Then find I had nothing to "tuck".

Now I just pull my pants up and "wiggle" my hips a little bit to position my pants in the right place.

Also discovered that there are certain cuts of panties that wedgie themselves.  If they are not "full seat" or marked "No Wedgie" panties, sooner or later you'll try to reach back and pull your underpants out of your ass.  Unless you are in the stall, you have to try to do that with no one else looking.  I never had to do that when there was a bulge in front.

In short, it's wonderful!

Since you mentioned wedgies, i gotta ask, do panties really occasionally cause a frontal wedgie? Or is that just a rumor floating around the interwebz

Haha, frontal wedgie! I've never had that happen, or even heard of it.

As far as how it feels post-op not having to tuck and stuff...umm, amazing! It's so natural now being almost 4 years post-op that I can't imagine having something hanging down there. Worrying about a bulge, erection, crossing legs, accidentally crushing things, all of that is gone and makes life so much better. Also, just the body image seeing myself as the girl I've always dreamed I was is fantastic.

I never tucked... but the rest of it is fantastic. Or more accurately, it just feels *right.* It was like a week before I forgot that I wasn't always designed like this.

(and yes, the crotch/front wedgie from panties is a real thing. :) I was less thrilled about that discovery!)

Are you referring to the dreaded "camel toe"?  That usually only occurs if your pants are too high and too tight so that the crotch of the pants go into your cleft.  It gives a fairly accurate outline of your goodies for everyone to see.

If your panties are riding so high or tight that they crawl up your cleft, maybe you should get a larger size.

Hi ... Perhaps my perspective is a bit different.  I am now 28 years post-op and counting, and to be honest, I barely remember "tucking".  It's felt totally natural to me for a long, long time now, and you'll enjoy the freedom as well.  It's true that if you buy panties that are too small (generally 2 sizes too small or smaller) that they can give you a "frontal wedgie", especially with high-cut panties.  I wouldn't worry about that ... With the correct size panties, you won't have a problem there.  I do NOT miss what I don't have any more.  Enjoy!
It took a lot of doing, but I take a lot of pride in what I am.

9 months on and it's still strange in a bad way for me. I miss tucking.

I know what size I am damn-it!!  I just buy the right size underwear and no wedgies for me.  Before surgery, nylon and spandex took care of the tuck issues, now its cotton ones to cut down on my likelihood for yeast infections.  The wiping every time you pee does get boring though.

It also is a pain with the toilet paper as well. Both purchasing more than before and the quality.

I forget which but one British scientist way back used to use his own pee when he wanted some sterile fluid.

Washing out the front of the new vagina while you pee seems a pretty good way to keep it free of smells and infections.

I don't quite understand why toilet paper quality and quantity should be a problem to some of you?

Well quality didn't really change I always liked soft paper to begin with it just made me appreciate it much more with the new bits there, as for quantity, well to put it bluntly I use it more now that I am post than I did before.
Before hand I just had to wipe my bum when a #2 happened now when I pee I wipe there as well and sometimes where it my drizzle, so that's why the quantity "for me at least" has increased
