Hello people!

Well.  Me... I've kindof been a lurker on this website for a few months.  Four actually.  Years actually...  Four years.

Anyway.  I can talk all on and on about my childhood.  How all my friends liked the guy stuff and whatever and whatnot.  I think that's common for many of us.  So I'll instead give a short point about me.  One that I think sums everything up.

All my life I was smart.  I had no drive, took no initiative.  I was a waste of talent, and I didn't care.  I had no interest in "dressing LIKE a girl" - my goal was "to BE a girl"  In fact, I had this crazy far-fetched dreamlike idea, where I wished aliens would abduct me and somehow "fix" me.  I'm not joking! And I didn't even believe in aliens!! (And.  By alien.  I mean flying saucer in the atmosphere with people with spindly-thin necks)

4 years ago, I happened upon the revelation of HRT.  This was a huuuge discovery for me.  All of a sudden I went from the mindset of somebody with "nothing-to-lose"...

...

to somebody who had "already lost everything".  I was sooo scared that it was "too late" for me to start HRT.

Anyway.  As you see, here in this community.  There is so much living proof that it isn't "too late", and that maybe it never is!  It's just a matter of when I decide to stop being and start living.  I think this realization is what ignit (is that a word??? spellcheck says no) a spark in me.  And that has made all the difference, and I'm sure it will continue to do so in the future.

A big warm official welcome to the family! I started at 47 and so far no one has asked for my picture to be removed (probably will now though). I don't think you are ever to old to begin to live instead of just exist. I feel better now than in my 20s and have started taking an active part in my health. I hope you start to live and realize whatever dreams you have. I am so glad you joined the family now. Ever need anything just PM anytime. Here is a BIG HUG ( ) to start your life with us off right.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

Good to hear your realisation are finally being realised. And as you've noted, age has no barriers round here, or anywhere else. I hope the rest of your journey is as enlightening.

Oh by he way, the word you were looking for was "ignited", which it obviously did. But please be aware theres a total fire ban in Oz presently due to our extreme summer weather. Please ignite yourself somewhere else.  .
