Hi All
Ok so I will introduce myself first as I am new to this particular site......hello! If this is posted in the wrong place then I apologise, we are spoilt for choice with all the categories!

My name is Kay and I'm at the start of my hopefully successful transitioning journey. I currently live in Bangkok where I am a teacher and live my life as a dude in the day and go out when I can as a dudette. After years of thought, doubt, self hatred, bouts of depression, denial, worry and all the other horrible things that go through ones mind I have decided that this is the year I am going to make things happen....yay!
The position I currently find myself in however will play a huge factor in how I go about things. Obviously I want as much help as possible and to transition in a safe way. This would take me down the route of getting a referral from my GP and eventually a few visits to a GIC. The problem i face is that my work here in Bangkok is going really well and I cant afford to go home yet, financially or career wise.
I am currently taking Finasteride in the form of Proscar but If I was to stay here on a long term basis would start to add a low dosage of Estraderm as well, in the form of the patches.
I would love to hear from other people who have had experience with this particular drug or those who have started transitioning abroad.....or just anyone who can help out.
I'm not rushing into anything and just trying to educate myself in depth on every possible avenue I could take and would love some help doing so

I have read that a lot of those transitioning who use Estraderm patches. I would start lower if I were to do this. I don't want to shock my body and know that more does not equate to better, from a health or results perspective.
I would just want to start slow, in the safest way I can that allows me to stay here (Bangkok) until I go home in the future and get myself to the GP and eventually GIC.
Thanks for your time

K x
