Euterpe

Hi everyone! (do people refer to themselves on here as Susans?) I've always found this forum to be what my google searches guides me towards. It's almost as if every time I have some MtF related question for the internet I'm guided here. So here I am, finally trying to participate in this community (or at least trying to be more than a lurker). I'm a twenty year old MtF, and I just started HRT 13 days ago and am just really excited about everything in general (despite some loss in energy and subtle mood swings). I look forward to a fun forum experience with the people here. どうぞよろしく
I've always been taught that transitions are the hardest parts to play correctly in music, and I've found this to be completely accurate.

I guess time will tell me if musical transitions are as similar to transitioning your gender presentation in terms of difficulty!

Indeed, I've looked at some of those things; I'll be sure to view the ones I'm less familiar with when I have some more time! I did name this account after the Greek muse of instrumental music and I think free form poetry, but I might be wrong on that second one. However, that's not my actual name. My actual name is Jordan; I probably should have mentioned that one when I introduced myself... Thanks for the welcome!

If you like Jordan, we'll use that, but Euterpe is a beautiful name  :)

One of my best friends of younger days was named Jordan  :)

Either works for me.  :) I've always been pretty alright with my name, with how gender neutral it is. Although it was certainly strange the day someone informed me that my name is a candy coated almond brand. I haven't been reminded of that relation in years!

A big warm welcome to the family baby! We are so glad you joined up with us. Yes, Momma Susan has created the best family ever conceived and a really safe place for us to gather at. The moderators do an excellent job with keeping us all safe and in line. They are like big Pit Bulls with a gushy, warm inside. This is the best place to learn all you need to about transition and life dealing with gender issue's. Feel free to rant, vent, share good news and find a shoulder to cry on if that is what is needed. Here is a BIG HUG ( :icon_hug:) to start your new life off with us and your journey to find the real you! :)

Hi Euterpe,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

In answer to your question, "does everyone here refer to themselves as Susan's," well no. I'm Catherine the maaaaaad one.  ;D   ;D. But some of use refer to this place as family. A chosen family. Hope you enjoy being a part of it.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

It's good to hear you're pretty tolerant of what people say on here. I've always been hesitant to participate in any forums, because I feel like I'll say something stupid or insensitive, or just plain annoying. I'll be sure to try to just say what I feel. I've been getting better at that these days than I used to be anyway...  :D じゃまた。I love having Japanese language bar settings, even though I'm only on my second  semester of college Japanese.
