A friend of mine told me another friend of hers gets that just by when a man fingers her or does oral to her.

Is this thing frequent? How many of you post ops got this? Does this happen to all post ops? Cos it sounds so scary.

Yes post ops can get UTIs easier then pre op. I had them when i was pre op but have not had one yet since i been post.

Remember the tube is now way shorter.

Can also get Yeast and other infections.

Its all part of being a woman.

Edit, It is the pee of fire when you get one.

I was warned that it was much easier post-op, since it's now a straight shot up the urethra to the bladder *and* the urethra is located much closer to bacteria-filled areas now. But I've never gotten one yet (fingers crossed!). I hear it's not fun, but it's not terrible, either.

This is very common for cis women as well. They generally recommend that you try to pee as soon after sex as you can. And yeah, it is because of the shorter urethra, and the fact that the urethra is much closer to the anus (things can transfer easily, especially if you don't wipe front to back).

Yup way easier had one shortly after I had set for the first time, it sucked.  Remember to pee after, and you should be OK, at least I have been after

All the above is true. Just means you need to add Cranberry juice and yoghurt to your daily diet to act as front line defence.

Every woman I've spoken to, lives by it.

* Drug Warning *

Don't ever let them give you any of the fluoroquinolone antibiotics to kill a UTI. They are -d-a-n-g-e-r-o-u-s-.

Common names include Cipro, Levaquin, Tequin, Avelox, Noroxin, and Floxin. They are routinely prescribed for UTI's because they are broad spectrum antibiotics attacking many, many strains of infectious bacteria. Basically they kill a cell by damaging it's DNA rendering it incapable of reproducing.

When you take these drugs, it's what many call being "floxed". The drugs are bonded with fluoride and are capable of penetrating your entire body, even passing the blood brain barrier.

Floxing drugs can cause devastating effects to the tendons, heart, nervous system and brain.

Fibromyalgia is a common misdiagnosis for being "floxed" along with a wide list of others- even mood disorders. Active healthy people are perhaps some of the most at risk because of the drugs' effect on tendons and cartilage.

Also there is a major drug interaction between steroids like prednisone (corticosteroids). It can cause tendon rupture. Watch. Out.

Don't take this stuff unless it's life or death!

6+ years post-op and still infection free.

The main reasons:

Good hygiene/bathroom habits

No sex :(

I don't drink cranberry juice.  And only have yogurt once or twice a month.
