Quote from: Gina Taylor on February 13, 2014, 09:27:18 AMTuesday came and went and the gentleman who owns the perfume store never bothered to call me to let me know anything. To be perfectly honest, I think he was just leading me on . . . I don't think he had any intention on hiring me. So I'll just wait for the next opportunity and hopefully my next employer will be more honest with me.
Quote from: Shana-chan on February 13, 2014, 01:24:16 PMSorry to hear this though, maybe something came up and he never got the chance to call you? (This is wrong but it happens) My advice is call him again, you never know Gina, he really might not of had time to call you. If you give him a call and try and meet with him, then you will know your answer. Besides, what if it turns out you're mistaken in what you thought was the case and you didn't call him back and find out what was going on? The result is no job and it could have been a job in which you loved doing. I hope you'll call and find out what's going on and either way, best of luck with this or the next job!
Quote from: Gina Taylor on February 14, 2014, 02:55:36 PMThanks for the good advice Shana-chan and Cynthia. I just saw my therapist and he told me that the letter that my future employer needs I have to get from disability and not him, so I'll try to get it on Monday so that I can give it to my future employer on Tuesday, since that is the only day that he works.
Quote from: Shana-chan on February 14, 2014, 06:40:26 PMYou're welcome, hope it all goes well. Also, does this mean you'll be meeting with him about the job or were you talking about another employer?
Quote from: Gina Taylor on February 20, 2014, 10:37:13 AMI went back to the perfume store on Tuesday, and I had a chance to meet the other owner and he told me that he had no openings at that time, so it looks like the other owner was leading me on.

Quote from: Cindy on February 20, 2014, 11:06:59 AMSo sorry to hear this Gina. You know something though? You are an incredibly strong woman. You have grown so much recently, I mean that sincerely. You have changed.Good things will happen. You are amazing. My loveCindy
Quote from: Gina Taylor on February 21, 2014, 09:58:15 AMThank you Cindy for those sweet and uplifting words. My roommate was just telling me the other day that what I should do is go and apply at some of the big department stores {JC Penny's, Dillard's, etc.} because they can not discriminate me because I am a transsexual. As long as I'm up front with them like I was at the perfume store, things may work out better.
Quote from: Shana-chan on February 21, 2014, 11:52:17 PMSorry to hear what happened. That is REALLY wrong and annoying when people lead you on thinking you have a job. My only question about this is, did you ever get to re-speak to the guy you first met and did you get to ask him about what the 2nd guy said? As for what you said above, if you don't have a bad feeling about it I'd say go for it! Either way, don't give up, you'll find your job sooner or later.
Quote from: Cynthia Michelle on February 22, 2014, 09:33:40 AMI will be sending good thoughts your way.
Quote from: Gina Taylor on February 22, 2014, 09:26:06 AMThere's no sense in beating a dead horse, Shana-chan. The first guy I think was just impressed on how I could change from being a guy to a beautiful woman. The second owner never saw me as my male persona so all he's seen me as is as my feminine persona and I'd noticed that a few new girls had already started working at the perfume store. Today I'm gonna go apply at some of the department store at our mall and I'll see what happens. I'm not one to easily give up that fast.
Quote from: Shana-chan on February 22, 2014, 02:59:12 PMWell, the dead horse part I agree, I just hate it when something unfair happens. So I try to fight and speak up for fairness to happen, it isn't easy though but hey! Good luck on the job hunt at those dept. stores!
