I look like an offensive lineman for the Chicago Bears and never used makeup before, but a few weeks ago I went nervously into an ULTA store told them I was looking for makeup for me as I was a transsexual who was finally coming out (oh 45, so OLD and ugly like a lineman, fat too, so had it all working against me) and they introduced me to the nicest teacher I could have ever hoped for. The Clinique girl, put her lab coat to the real test and took over two hours to teach me and show me from nuts to bolts how to clean my face in the morning, put on make up for work (not nearly ready for night makeup or looking fancy) then how to take it off and clean my face before bed. She even wrote all the steps down and what was used at each step. I went from nervous to oblivious to the rest of the world in minutes, all the way to having one of the best days of my 45 years ever!
So, if you are able (as sometimes I can be overly brazen, a trait I learned from pretending to be a man who is in charge of his life and can lead the way. Because though I am faking confidence I am in fact still being brazen lol if you can understand that) I highly recommend setting your fears aside and go on in. I was in a suburb of a major metropolitan area, a blue collar area, so there are better places to do it, and certainly worse. As I would not have done that in a small town, so if you live there I would say to take a trip to your nearest metro area if you do it solo like I did.
