So, I decided to start a photo journal and take measurements to track my journey. My plan is to take new pictures and measurements once a month, is that often enough?

Also, the measurements I'm taking are: Upper arm, shoulders, upper chest, bust, under bust, waist, hips and thigh. Are there other measurements I should be making note of?

Sidenote: It seems odd to me that my waist measures 31", but I can fit into a size 28 (and a size 7/8) with hardly a problem..

I'm sure you will! It took me about 6 months on a rather severe calorie restriction (and light to moderate exercise). I'm still limiting myself to approx. 600-800 calories per day, except for the weekend, I allow myself to snack (within reason) on weekends.
