Jaydawg yeah I figured it would, its just a habit from growing up female and not wanting a uni brow, that I have this thing to keep getting my eyebrows done lol I can probably get them to shape it more manlier? or let the eyebrows grow out and just get rid of the part that starts growing like a uni brow

Yeah, let 'em grow out; definitely no to the unibrow ;) If they are too bushy or there are odd strays, you can get that handled. At least you have the option - mine are blonde/clear and not really apparent unless I powder or pencil them to add color and volume.

I need some tips on how to pass. I don't think I do, but it's really hard to tell when I'm looking at my own face.

I haven't cut my hair yet 'cause I'm still in the closet so I'm cheating a bit by wearing a hat.

This is a selfie from work:

I feel like smiling makes me look more feminine but I'm not sure. Be brutally honest, I need sincere advice.

i agree with the most feminine part on you is your mouth area. something about your cheeks throws me off? i think that once you get a haircut that fits the face of your shape it'll compliment your jawline and help out :) no worries, you'll get there!

I think rounded glasses like that would make anyone's face look more feminine, and you'd probably pass better with some square frames. And I don't know if you're wearing the hats just to cover your hair or if they're for work, but I don't think that would help you pass in the real world. I rarely see young guys wearing ballcaps of that style, you're more likely to see the kind with flat brims and logos. Otherwise I think you have good passing potential if you got a masculine haircut

Also thanks polo and tomboy, I go to the gym every week, helps me feel more masculine before I start T, also helps with letting out stress and stuff lol gym is like therapy

Not sure how much reading into it you've done, but lifting weights raises testosterone levels which might have something to do with it :P  I just got back into a serious lifting program myself (after too long of a break oops), and it feels awesome.  I'll be posting here for the first time when I feel like I'm back to my normal musculature.  Funny how starting to date someone throws a wrench into your workout plans...or mine at any rate lol.

I think that you're better off letting your eyebrows grow out and doing maintenance on your own.  I too fear the uni-brow and usually shave off the middle part, and up until recently shaved off a little too much in the middle for a guy's eyebrows. Old habits die hard I guess.

Not even one week post my first shot of T. Wanted to see how well I pass without t right now. I usually get sir about half the time, until I open my mouth, even when I speak from my chest. My voice also does that stupid high pitched thing when I get excited, which is often. lol. I also forget and raise my eyebrows pretty high for a guy. Most of my classmates in college know I'm gay, so I think that's what gets me out of a lot of potentially embarrassing situations with them.

Only issue is my leg hurts like unholy h*ll. Feels like I tore a freaking muscle in it, so from now on I think I'll skip working out after I've given myself my shot. I probably should have done my workout first, or the day before or something. Not sure if they're related, but I'll see next week (doing weekly shots, because my endo says so).

Anyway, what do you guys think? (hope my link works. Flikr is being weird for me today.)

you totally pass in the first picture

charliedogist - heh. I have to admit I hit some random button and got totally side tracked by your awesome dogs.

Haha, I have like two flickr accounts, the other one has ALL my dog pictures on it. I tend to take too many pictures of my dogs lol, let me know if you want the link to that, I'll PM it to you when my account is able (still says guest, not sure when that goes away?)

there can never be too many pictures of dogs. Please pm it to me when you can

I also totally need either a haircut or a hair straightener. I hate that my hair starts to curl at a certain length. I keep it under a knit cap most of the time, but I live in the land of humidity near 100% in the summer time (not sure if we're allowed to post what state we live in, but it's in the south, lol) and in the summer I switch to a BDU patrol cap (hold over from when I was in the army) so I keep it pretty short on the sides, and longer a bit on top. I try to go for the Tenth Doctor look, lol. I've already started loosing body fat because of a few tips on websites before starting T, which I think has helped a lot with my jaw line. I have about zero shoulder muscles though. Bodyweight circuits FTW on that one. Already seeing improvements after about three weeks, even before starting T. Looking at my full sibling brother, I can honestly say I will probably never grow a full beard (he's about three years younger than me and still doesn't have any facial hair) but if I can reach his body style I'd be infinitely pleased.

Also, what age would you put me at?
  •

@Charlie I'd guess you to be about 17 or so. Congrats on starting T!

Thanks! I've been lurking a lot on here, decided when I finally got my first shot that I would join. I have trouble keeping up with more than one forum usually, and I'm a long time member on another one, so we'll see how long I actually post here vs just lurking.

I usually get 16 or 17 also, haha. I was gifted with "young" looking genes I guess. You're off by almost nine years though :p I'll be 26 in July.  :o

Right, let's give this a go :P no full body pictures because I have no-one to take a picture of me just yet. But just a few random face pics:

I guess this is what I'd look like with short hair. Terrible, basically, haha, so the dreads will stay, I think:

Looking good jason. Uou pass a bit more to me in the first picture. not sure why

Yeah, looking good. You have a good basis for when you get on T, and based on those pics I'd even say you already pass.

Jason - I think you pass really well in the first pic. You have thick eyebrows and a masculine looking chin. The second pic you don't pass as well in, I think maybe that angle shows that your jaw isn't as chielsed as you'd expect on an adult guy? I think with your masculine features you'll pass really well after you've been on T for a short while.

Thanks everyone for the honest and helpful tips! I really appreciate it. By the way, did anyone notice the website go down yesterday? In regards to my glasses, I'm far too blind to use contacts. I really wanted 'em 'cause I work in a kitchen and I always get ->-bleeped-<- on my glasses but unfortunately, my eyesight is too poor for contacts. They're inadequate for my astigmatism. I tried 'em out but I couldn't really read that well and my long distance vision was very limited. It sucks. I can't afford new glasses at the moment but I'm hoping once I get a better job that I can buy a pair online 'cause it's significantly cheaper supposedly.

I definitely know what you guys mean about my mouth. I've lost almost 50lbs and so I've lost some fat from my face but unfortunately, I seemed to have stopped losing the fat in my cheeks so now I feel like they've gotten even more plump. :/ Very irritating, my lips are kinda full too which doesn't help either. I usually don't wear ballcaps, that hat just happened to hide my hair the best. I don't think I'll wear it out in public, it is quite outdated haha.

Up until this point I've always been hesitant to cut my hair 'cause I didn't wanna look like a butch lesbian. I'm out as "gay" to everyone which definitely gives me more freedom to be as masculine as possible. The downside is I might come off as really butch. I'm at a point where I just kinda don't give a damn anymore. I've been living in the closet for so long, it's really starting to bring me down. I kinda wanna cut my hair as a middle finger to everyone that has tried to make me more feminine. A big ol "Screw you guys, I own my body!" Also, the weather is getting warmer here and I want to use that as an excuse to get my hair short

So since you guys mentioned haircuts I figured I'd ask which haircut would help make my face masculine? I made a new thread:
https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,162471.0.html
Just in case it's against the rules for going off topic or whatever on here.

I'll try posting a pic/video sometime in the future after I get my haircut. My voice sounds like a 10 year old boy to me so I'd be interested in seeing what you guys think hehe.

Thanks again everyone! I really appreciate the honesty.

PS: You guys made me feel really great about myself 'cause I was worried I'd have absolutely no chance at passing. :D

ok, I've only posted one other picture and people commented how you couldn't really see my face. This picture was a total accident. I accidentally bumped my tablet than pushed random buttons. I know it's kind of cut off and stuff. Pictures are still hard but you can see my face. I'm pre-T. I know I don't really pass.

Question about the glasses, are they ok? They are freaking expensive, so I probably can't change them right away but I want to know if I should plan on changing them.

I'm also thinking of getting a really short cut. I don't know.

I think you are looking great tomboy! Don't worry about the glasses, they're fine!

It's a bit hard to tell from this angle but the glasses seem a bit big on you in a way but otherwise they're not bad.  Also I think a really short haircut would probably look good on you :)
