im 19 years old and should be starting my HRT before my 20th is this a good age to transition compared to people who transition in they're late 30s 40+ i keep thinking i should have just come out and said something when i was 12 but i was to afraid of what my family and friends would say/do. looking at my profile avatar do you think that HRT will have a good effect on me ?  :)

This is a super-early start. Your bone growth plates aren't even closed yet, meaning your pelvis will probably widen a bit, giving you fuller hips. Is it better now than in 20 years? Absolutely. Congratulations, you lucky girl. Keep us updated.

Good luck,
Tegan

Ronnie,
Lucky girl. You sound like your frame is petite, which is a great starting point. You sound like an ideal candidate for a very effective transformation. I think you're going to be very happy with what you see in the mirror over the next few months and years. Were I you, I'd be very excited right now.

Cheers,
Teg

I started at a young 20, meaning closer to 19, so I'd probably be a good frame of reference for you. Shot on the left is a no makeup look for me a few weeks back, at 16 months HRT, for whatever that's worth. You should get quite good results, even a few that most of the folks won't get here because of your age. Be aware of them, like I got hip widening, which isn't talked about much on the forums, but can absolutely, though not necessarily, happen to you. My face, likely yours as well, hasn't reached its final adult form yet, so that possibly is still to change, and a huge one. Like, my face shape changed because of my youth, wound up getting my mother's chin, which is a female only trait, in this family. Of course, it all varies, but you have a solid starting spot, and we many years until we become a fine, aged wine, also on your side.

Good luck! Always makes me happier to see other younger folks on here. :)

you look amazing in your photo :). and yes most of the people at my support group are of an older age wile there are only about 3 of us who are below 21. the hip widening is a really good thing because were i used to do MMA and boxing i gained a lot of shoulder muscle but the HRT fat redistribution should fix that apart from the muscles my shoulders are not wide. and i got my mums chin as well haha but got my dads nose i hate it it looks like louis griffins nose of family guy . if i did turn out looking like my mum in any way i will be happy she's been my role model all my life and all my mates  keeps saying how beautiful she is -_- and yes when we are old and reading 50 shades of grey in are late 60s

yeah laser is needed i don't really have a lot of beard growth which is great and with the muscles I'm still very toned from years of sports so I'm hopping i can keep my figure but loose the muscly look and get more curvaceous. ffs is something i want and voice therapy is also needed i don't have a deep voice to begin with plus you can't really see my adams apple at all but i would still like to get a trachea shave. but I'm glad i have started at the age i am now even if its not the preferred age i wanted to come out at at least its finally happening all we need now is a fountain of youth and everyone wanting to go back to there young years and transition will be able to do that lol *heads in the clouds*

Yeah reading that hip widening can still occur at our ages is good news! I guess fat redistribution is just a bonus. lol
Does anyone know when will hrt will stop developmenting the hip bone area? I'm 23 and start hrt this May so I'm curious to know how many benefits of hrt have been lost in three years or will end soon.

OP I think estro will do you wonders. Your thin, young, petite, and have long hair. You will turn out great.

Nat,
From what I've read, it varies from person to person. However, for many of us the growth plates don't close until 24 or 25, so there's still a chance you'll experience pelvic-widening. Time will tell.

Good luck, and keep us updated.

Cheers,
Teg

Hey everyone :)

Ronnie, your transition sounds very promising, like everyone has said, with small frame, relatively small hands and feet, your ticking boxes there :) From the pic your face should go well, your jaw line, nose eyes, lips are looking quite fem so it should only get batter.

Thanks for asking that question nat, and teg for answering. 24-25 makes me feel a lot better about facing up to this at 21 there's promise yet! yew!

Yeah I'm completely hopeful now! I'll have to start using more hips when I walk and maybe it will help. :)  How about some pics of yourself Shiney? At age 21, you should get near perfect results I would imagine!

Haha i started mimicking the walk of the girl in front of me when i was out somewhere last week, half heartedly though because i didn't want anyone to ask questions. At home by my self i do it a fair bit, completly changes how you feel :) Pics, well i'll have to work on that. i don't have any of me that i'd want to put up, the wig i have is so bad and i haven't used make up before. actually frac it. how do i put up a pic, or should i just dp it?

And Kyra, you have some great curves in that pic! wow
