I've been dating this guy Josh since February and I *thought* I had come out to him but I guess he didn't understand. He thought I was cis-female genderqueer because he saw pictures of me dressed androgynously on Facebook!

We were on IM tonight and he said maybe he should try going on hormones for a little bit just to see what girls feel like, and I told him that the clinic near him does informed consent now so he can get some. I'll just cut and paste the transcript of the rest of our conversation:

Me: when i went through all that stuff i had to be a total queer activist about it.
though i don't know how they deal with people in the non-binary gender spectrum....
Him: when you went through what?
Me: gender transition. i'm mtf.
Him: wait i'm 98% sure you're messing with me :P no, maybe 92%
Me: ha ha. no. alas, i am once again too convincing in my (relatively) newly designated gender role. :)
Him: haha, I had absolutely no idea

He was totally fine with it though. Has anyone else experienced disclosure mishaps?

When I came out to my soon to be ex wife, she was like oh cool you are trans. Turns out I had to come out again because she didn't seem to understand that I wanted to medically transiton whereas she had in her mind like a drag queen or something lol.
15 years on Susans, where has all the time gone?
