Clothes shopping with a gal pal!

As a guy I loathed shopping for clothes. Usually I'd wait for existing clothing to be almost falling apart before forcing myself to dash into an outlet and buy a replacement (usually exactly the same brand and make, or similar). And literally it would be: go in; grab a few items; try them on for fit only if absolutely necessary and then get the heck outta there! It was never planned, I always resented having to do it and never ever would I go with anyone else. Perish the thought!!!

Yesterday I went clothes shopping with a gal pal - and it was so much fun! I've already found it is fun to go clothes shopping for women's attire but for some weird reason it was even more fun to go with someone else and chat about things we were looking at, deciding what we liked and didn't like, offering feedback on anything we tried on. Who would have thought!?

Anyone else find this?

Yup. It's a lot of fun and you feel a lot less self-conscious as TG being in "the other place" when its not just you standing in a sea of clothes hoping that a sales person doesn't pounce on you or ask you what you're doing.

Yes. I've gotten to enjoy this experience so many times. In fact, a girlfriend and I are headed out today. Thank estrogen and the incredible dopamine release we get from female bonding. As a heterosexual woman, I can think of only one thing that tops it, and that's only sometimes. :-)

I rather like the go in, find one that looks good, buy 3 and be done.

I have to admit that it may seem like I wore the same shirt or jeans all week, but I didn't.

This described me in guy-mode almost down to a T...except sometimes I did wear the same pair if jeans all week!

Because I'm building wardrobe, not an inexpensive undertaking, my favourite at the moment is Target especially for the clothes I wear to work. Yesterday it was to Millers, not my usual choice but I did buy an excellent jacket.

That's the benefit of being in the military or any other uniformed job,  you don't have to waste time/brainpower thinking about what mundane, practical clothes to wear during the work week, you can focus on cool fancy clothes.  :)

yes, love shopping for dresses , don't have a gal pal to do it with , but still incredibly addicting.

Eh... not really. I end up either getting jealous or wishing I could afford stuff with cis women. With trans women the entire thing turns into a "What do you think?" party and I end up having to explain a zillion things about why I think a hundred different things don't look good on her. But sometimes I'm in the mood for it, and when I am they can be kinda fun then...
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

I think I was making my gal pal jealous... "You rock that...i think you'd rock anything!"

There are a few women I know who, if I was to go clothes shopping with them,  I think that I would want to stab my brain out from sheer envy.
