i really like the idea that your parents or your mom have to choose your name. my name, svenja, was also a wish of my mom and
in the same way, the fem version of "sven" - my old boyish name i had to grow up with 
so it was kind of a logical consequence in both ways ...

It was how I came out to mom..  I told her..

Me:  "I know this is going to be very hard to ask, but.. Mom, if I was born a girl, what would my name have been?"

  Mom:   "Well, I always wanted to call you Paula Christine, but your father said, "no, the only Christine he knew was Christine Jorgensen and no kid of mine was going to be named after a sex change person!"

"Perfect", I said... "Figures I would have been named after a transgendered woman..  because, I am one"

Because Jills are awesome and every path I took in my name search early on led to Jill.  I know it's boring and plain, but trust me, I am neither.  And yes, it will be my legal name next month.

My name, Evelyn Marie, is currently the name of my male side, though I wanted to keep a level of androgyny. I don't like my birth name it's so... not right. I'm trying out names right now and so mine's liable to change.

Kiwi it's just a nickname of course 

I decided to not register with the male name I use in life (I'm FtM) because it's a male name in Italy but female in all other countries. I didn't want to be misgendered I guess the english translation of it would be Andrew.

Well Jess is sort of a nickname for my male name I just added an "ica" to it and voila, me.

The username on here is how I feel about my transition and what it is doing for me. My birth name is Michael, but the name I go my now is Mariah. I have always liked that name.

My username is my nom de femme of sorts.  I used to go by Vicki, but then went through a period where I like Nikki better.  OK, so my femme side has multiple-personality disorder.   

I was watching Strawberry Panic like the same week I signed up for Susans, Hikari is a character in that show.

Now, that being said, I am not really sure why I don't use my chosen name. It made sense back when I was hiding my face, city, age, etc but now it makes alot less sense, people really wouldn't have much trouble figuring out who I am if they wanted to.
