How many pushups can you do now that you're on HRT?

None, but I couldn't do any before either. :) I don't seem to have lost much actual strength, but again, my wife could outdo me weightlifting pre-HRT too... what I *have* lost is the bulky muscles. I have sort of "lightly toned" muscles instead of the big flashy kind.

Just tried this and got the same result..... holy cow! I used to be able to carry two 50lbs bags of fertilizer without breaking a sweat. Now I can barely pick up a 35 jug of cat litter.

Okay, I broke down and tried, 1, 2, urgh, argh, almost, errrahhhh, ah hell, 2 and half push ups for me, and I struggled on the first one. Long ago I used to be able to do 100 at a time. But you know what, I don't care, I like my arms so much more now, and how I feel is a far better trade. Okay, so I kind of have the wrong kind of job for someone that doesn't like to have muscles, and quite often have to use them for something heavy. I can do 35lbs okay, but 50lbs is already well past my physical strength limit. now get this my boss, she's very womanly, she lifts 50 pounds like its nothing. So when she's working the truck unload with me, I let her have at it.  ;D

Pre-hormones, this is what I looked like:

Them were some veiny arms. And ewe I can't believe I posted the absolutely worst picture of me (I still cringe every time I look at it), that was one tough time in my life there.

Its that picture of me that when I look at it and look at me now, this is where I can really see how much I have changed. I'll take beauty over brawn any day. If I really need muscle and totally impossibly can't do it, I'll just have someone else stronger or more willing to do it for me.  ;)

Megan I would absolute agree your arms look much better!!

I still use my muscles much more than I would like too. I also do work out but I don't focus on any upper strength training. I know the one time I was alone in the gym I tried to bench press, I could only manage 65...I tried to start with 80 but had to keep moving down. I've seen many thin girls at the gym that can handle more weight than I.....even on squats and the leg press, one area I though I was fairly strong at.

I just wish my arms could look as nice as yours, I'm sure their not much bigger but they just look so crappy!!

Where's the beard? Are you kidding me? You look post-HRT even here!

You're a truck load of beautiful. Unload that!

I was pulling out my facial hair then (this also included plucking my eyebrows as well, and long before that I had already been shaving my legs and by them was pulling the hair out there too). I had already begun taking steps even before HRT. I think that pic there was either 2000 or 2001, perhaps, being as I looked to be kinda dressing feminine I may've just started full time but still a few months before getting hormones.

I seriously got to put together this huge portrait album I'm trying to work on. Was going to post another pic, but lets keep to the topic, don't want to derail it with unrelated stuff. I think I look horrible in that pic, only showing it for the arms since they're so pumped and ugly (doing too many push-ups in the early part of my life), I didn't expect compliments that I looked good, like no way.  :-\

But thank you.  :)

I dont do any pushups anymore. I guess I could do 10, maybe 20, but not really feel that I want to. Just for the record, in the uni I could do 50 in one minute. No more pull-ups I am afraid too (my record was 23 or 24, dont remember).

I can do about 300 squats though... Can You? :D (ok, this is going towards "My bewbs are bigger than Yours" so I better stop right here).

Update: OK, this got me intrigued. I can do 20, though after 15 it gets quite hard. Maybe I could do 22-25, maybe... My arms and pecs will hurt tomorrow, but... does this mean that I can whoop Your butt now? :)

I can do 3 now I was able to do 30 before hormones.

I just did 15 push ups. Uh pre-HRT I could prolly do the same. I don't feel any weaker. My biceps are only 9.5 inches though and my wrists are 5". I could never do a pull up. When I was a kid in gym class they let me do push ups on my knees, like the girls. Surprisingly, no one ver gave me crap. But, I am 5'5 115-20 lbs so people just expect I'm weak. But, I don't want to be weak. Forget that. Of course, you won't catch me at a gym working out either. I like my fatty, thin-ish arms.

hahah, great topic :D
tried and managed exactly 3 -
the fourth was much to hard XD

i think all my muscular strength is gone over the past year ...

I managed 4, then I didn't like the pain and gave up.

I could do about 30 when I was in my final denial going-to-the-gym-once-a-week phase.

Hrt And dieting have taken 3" off my arms.

Got 8 before my shoulder gave out. I never could do many prior to hrt, around like 15. My shoulder gives out due to old injuries. My workouts these days are all lower body workouts and cardio. I doubt I could do one pull-u. If I remember right my pull-up record was 1
Byes!!!! It's been real but this place isn't for me. Good luck in the future everyone.

*lol*
I used to bench about 70kgs for 10 reps.
Now I can barely manage 10 push ups.
It's not showing though - my arms haven't thinned out much at all.

Pull-ups were always fail for me.

pre-hrt around 40 and could do multiple sets in a day. 4 months later... 15 (ok I cheated on the last 2 and none of them where chest to the floor either), and I AM NOT going to do anymore, that winded me way more than I expected...

I had to try this <gasp, gasp> :-\

I used to carry people down ladders for a living and now, wobbly arms at 10, collapse at 18. I measured and taped before HRT and before Biceps were 18" (now 14"), wrist's were 10" (now 71/2").  ::) I believe I have arrived at the dark side now! Where's the cookies at? ;D

I made cinnamon almond cookies today...

Did zero pushups.  Muscle sticks like glue to me.   More cardio. *le sigh*
