I was pretty much the shift cook, uniform fixer and cleaner upper. The funny thing is I heard several times "You are going to make someone a nice wife someday". Little did they know! ;D

More empathy for females and their personal struggles in a patriarchal society.
Immeasurable hatred for men with their testosterone driven evil. (mexican cartel beheading videos anyone?)
Did I say Hatred of Males, YET?

I can certainly say I 'feel' more extremes in all facets of my emotions.

As far as thought processes, I'm quite a bit more removed from my male leaning hobbies. Heck I built a powerful beast of a PC before transitioning in March and I hardly ever turn it on. ??? What a waste.

How many us Aspys are trans? ??? :o  And I can relate a lot to both of you.  I haven't started HRT yet, but this give me hope for myself.

The general percentage of people being transsexual is believed to be 0.01% while the estimated percentage of people asperger's is estimated to be around 0.5% depending on the study. Of course the problem here is that there are arguments whether asperger's is a standalone "disorder" or belongs into high functioning autism. Of course only a fraction of both groups is ever diagnosed.

Still the probability of getting the two combined isn't as small on this international forum :-) . And what hormones did to my previously nearly non-existent emotional side... Just wow :-D . My social skills are still nearly non-existent though. Nothing changed that. Best of luck Ravensong!
Semi-blind asperger transwoman. But do I care? No I don't. I love myself :-) .

Latest study from New Zealand was 1.2%. A study of high school children reported just below 5% gender questioning.

The difficulty in all of the studies is definition of transgender from a medical point of view. The study suggesting 0.01% was based mainly on transwomen who progressed to GCS. This is now known to be an inaccurate parameter.

With the current referral level to psychiatrists in Australia for gender dysphoria the feeling is that the 1.2% level is also inaccurate and may be closer to 2%.

I've read that here in Czech both the Ministry of Health and the Institute of Sexuology keep some statistics on the amount of people diagnosed with F64.0 - transsexual along with other demographic data and we're below the 0.01% here.

The transgender community is larger of course but I can't provide a percentage for that. And yes, the definitions for the terms vary greatly. So yes, depending on the study :-) .

I didn't mean to sidetrack the thread....wow!  I just noticed that quite a few on this forum (relatively speaking) seem to identify as having Asperger's, so I was curious.

Okay, now back to your regularly scheduled thread.

Was woken up this morning to take care of some business that a subordinate should have been able to handle, was pissed about it but it was a GOOD pissed, and felt healthy. If that makes any sense.

I used to be terrified of my temper, not any more. I can now get angry when needed and yet maintain control.

Thank you for sharing that Ally, especially about your hair growing back. I'm 46 and am concerned about that. Your mentioning that gives me a lot of hope. :)

I wish I had a before to show you. But unfortunately I only have this one taken at only 3 months hrt. Before, you could easily see my scalp on the top left side of my head. Now going on 6 months hrt it's way more thicker and growing like a weed!
The DHT suppressor I'm taking is Avodart (Dutasteride). I credit this miracle drug for giving me back my natural long straight black locks.

This has completely filled in since this photo was taken.

Congratulations. That is "so" awesome. I'm looking forward to mine growing back as well. :)

So today I noticed an extreme bout of being irritable.   I also noticed today is the day I change my E patch.  Is this the peak and valley thing talked about?
Is it progression if a cannibal uses a fork?

Probably, I have a friend who's on the patches and on the day she has to change it she doesn't feel so good. How the drop off affects each of us is different but if you always feel this way just before or on the day you change your patch that's probably what it is.

Thought wise, I dart around inside my own mind more. That is to say I change thoughts quickly. It has lead me to appear more ditzy, but I am clearly of the same intellectual capacity of before. I find that quite interesting.

Emotionally, I feel more connected to people and driven to stay in contact. This makes the fact that my parents and brother have cut me off and my sister hardly talks to me hurt all the more. :-/ I talk a lot more with people in general. I am more open  about things although that could be social, as, post transition everyone who knew me from before, now knows my biggest secret, so maybe that leads me to be more open. I was pretty open before though too. I was a very emotional person before, but I have still noticed a slight reduction in the blockage of emotions that T causes. I am super super emotional now.

I smile a billion percent more, like, all the time. Literally, 100% of the time. people comment on it. Just today a guy a bar asked me how I could be so happy all the time and said he wanted whatever I was taking. I doubt he actually would though if he knew what it was! :-)

I actually forgot to mention two major changes in my psychology since I started taking estrogens. First came on Monday June 16th when I started to explore the surroundings of my house outside of Prague and then around the flat in Prague I use during the work week. Before I never felt the need to take a walk and look what's around. The freedom I felt...

The second major change came on Friday June 20th. I was shopping for some clothes for summer and special occasions with a colleague of mine and since my eye-sight is pretty bad I asked her if she could take a picture of me so that I could take a closer look the mirror couldn't provide me. That picture is the first one I actually shared with other people since I was 11. Otherwise I successfully evaded personal and family photos when I hit 11.

And all that comes to what was mentioned above: self-confidence and happiness :-) .
