Okay so I work at Longhorn Steakhouse which is owned by Darden Restaurants...
So I went to this website and it says that Darden is "Transgender Inclusive"
(said page: http://www.hrc.org/resources/entry/corporate-equality-index-list-of-businesses-with-transgender-inclusive-heal)
So I want to sign up for this asap.
Does anyone have any information about this?
Has anyone done this?
If you have PLEASE HELP ME!!!
If not, does anyone know anything about these new insurances that are required by the state?
Are any of them inclusive with chest surgery?
Even if you have to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed by your insurance, I am okay with that.
I just really need to know what the heck I am doing.
I am knew to all this insurance stuff, never had it before.
Please help, I'm dying here.

While the wolf waits below, hungry and lonely,
Crying to the moon, 'If only, If only.'"

The only way to know any answers is to talk to the insurance company directly. If you are already enrolled, you can call customer service and try to ask them in context of your actual policy.

Unfortunately, the company's name appearing in a list doesn't necessarily mean you personally will have coverage for surgeries with your specific plan. maybe though! good luck

Are you a full time employee? Most places only provide health insurance for full time employees. Also, there might be a deductible of lets say $5,000 a year before they start paying 80%...so you're still paying for the insurance, plus $5,000 of health care, plus 20% of costs after that. Check to see what their insurance provides. See if there's a deductable and what the maximum coverage is.

Ring up the provider.  Ask for the full coverage book, the one with all the fine print about what's covered, what isn't, and how much you'll have to pay out of pocket, and how much they're supposed to pay.

Get everything in writing, signed, sealed, delivered, with three witnesses while the signer holds her/his hand on holy tomes from three different religions.  Because insurance companies are run by sick, twisted, little daemons who will gladly screw you out of decent health care.

If you don't have enough time to read the book, or if you're too ADD [like I am], there are LGBT law groups that will check over the book for you, pro bono.  Some of them may even already have copies of the book and can tell you straight away if said insurance company, and plan, will cover anything from flu vaccines to GRS.
