Diet definitely contributes to a person's smell. I notice if I eat too much of certain foods I actually start smelling those foods in my sweat. It's weird.
Another thing to try in regards to feet stank, this'll sound bonkers to some, but wool or wool blend socks. Yes, even if it's hot, if you can stand it. In order of odor from least to worst, in my experience, wool > cotton > synthetics. Bonus, wool can absorb more moisture without feeling wet, so you avoid that sweaty sock feeling.
