Which bit of Brizzle were you going through ?

Hiya Nikkit, I don't know how well you know Brizzle but I was in an area called Bedminster, to us locals it's known as inbredminster (for good & obvious reasons).
I'm a 10 minute walk from that area & avoid it as much as possible, if I take a 5 minute walk to my nearest shopping area then I may get a funny look but people let me get on with my life without abuse/rude comments, it's amazing how attitudes change within such a close area.

I think we should start a vigilante group.   :icon_2gun:

It's tempting but we have to rise above such urges, I just wish the haters payed us the same respect.

I hope you do not have any more altercations like this. Not fun.

Unfortunately the girls are becoming harder & harder to hide, even my Iron Maiden t-shirts arent baggy enough & I refuse to buy extra baggy clothes just to hide away from haters.
Since the incident i've had many rude comments & stares around Brizzle, i'd guesstimate that in the last two weeks i've had at least a dozen rude comments aimed at me. Unfortunately i've had to let them all slide as my back & neck only stopped hurting a couple of days ago.

I would like to give each & every one of you a massive thank you for your support so here goes

THANK YOU
UPDATE:

My back & neck have been aching like crazy since the attack, the blow to the back of my head must have been harder than I first thought. Fortunately the aching has died down to almost nothing now (just in time for pride this weekend)

I had a phone call from the police a few days ago, they have checked the cctv in the area but due to the people (I use that term very loosely) sticking mostly to back roads & alleys they have not been caught on camera.
The police said that if I see them (& it's safe) then I should try to take a picture of them. I'm not really comfortable with that idea however. When they attacked me they were the instigators but if I brazenly walk up to them in public & snap a photo then surely i'm the one being antagonistic, I can't see a circumstance where this action would not lead to another altercation.

I've found it very depressing that my effort to get justice has been in vain, it doesn't help that I came off my happy pills about 3 weeks ago & have now been considering returning to use them as things will probably get worse with the combination of the girls growing & the weather being too hot to wear extra layers to hide them.

Sorry to hear you're still suffering, but I'm glad to hear it's settling down. I'm really looking forward to Pride this weekend, and if those scrotes who attacked you decide to head into town this weekend, god help 'em. ;)

I agree - this is very dangerous advice on the part of the police. It might be OK if you were in a crowded place (like a café) and they didn't spot you taking the picture... but let's face it, the whole idea is that you capture a clear shot of their faces, which means they'd be looking in your direction and would spot you doing it. Of course they're going to perceive that as an act of aggression: you chased them for blocks and they knew you were on the phone to the cops so they'll know why you're taking the pic. And anyway... stopping to take a mug shot of some scrotes whilst walking alone down the mean streets of Bemmie? Not a safe idea.

It might not be a bad idea, at least whilst the weather is hot. Happy pills might help if they can dull people's comments, especially if they're becoming more frequent now that the girls are coming along nicely.

Let's hope your determination and your bravery have made those idiots think twice about harassing innocent people.

I know it fairly well having worked there for about 15 years and living only a few miles away, so I know the areas to avoid  ;D Also used to be a Bierkeler regular for a while..

Haters can go and stuff themselves. Maybe try this t-shirt instead, nothing like a good poke in the eye...

Anyway, ignorance is bliss in some cases so stay happy and positive, and remember

You'll take my life but I'll take yours too
You'll fire your musket but I'll run you through
So when you're waiting for the next attack
You'd better stand there's no turning back.

All together now...

I know the areas to avoid

Yeah, the bit between Thornbury and Clevedon. ;D

(For those of you who aren't in our neck of the woods - that's pretty much the entire Bristol conurbation)

It is not THAT bad. ;D

Could be a lot worse. It could be Newport....

Main thing though, Jane is ok and she's a Maiden fan,  or possibly just a Maiden t-shirt fan... :P

Wow, that's terrible  :( I wish we could live in a world where people aren't judged for who they are, let alone violently attacked. I hope you are ok and all is well. Hope that aching goes away fully. Rest well and be safe, friend.

Jayne I am so sorry you had to go through that crap what doesn't  kill you will make you stronger

Gods, I'm glad you are okay...well...aside from the pain and trauma of course...it's times like this I wish we were allowed guns in the UK again...(this opinion has nothing to do with me being a gun nut...nope ^^)

Although...crap...when I think about it...my greatest fear now is...well...I suffer from...-cough- stress induced spontaneous orgasms -cough-

...

Soooooo yeah...if I get a sudden jolt of adrenaline and or stress, there is around a 50/50 chance I will crumble on the spot into a...bit of a...convulsing mess >.>

I hadn't considered it before now...but it's pretty sobering to think that in a similar situation, I would have been hit on the head, and then in all likelihood, found myself a completely vulnerable gibbering wreck on the pavement due to my messed up body :(

Luckily for me I have been full time for almost 4 months now, and have not received so much as a nasty glance (bar one particularly fanatical preacher) which is surprising, since I live in Scotland (not exactly known for our open minded outlook on "alternative lifestyles") and I have not changed my daily routine at all, still going out and about regularly etc...so hopefully I can avoid any...incidents ^^#

It's a scary world out there...

Sweetie I am sorry for what you went through, but where on earth do you live? Message me anytime. I was bullied when younger too. :(

Your very lucky you are okay, and hope the pain goes away. In one situation I was stalked by a person in a parking lot and he wanted to go in the elevator with me, to "help me". I told him I take the next one. He was trying very hard to distract me and to rob me. I try not to give anyone any chances and thats something thats hard to do sometimes.

So sorry you had to go through that, or that anyone should be discriminated against at all. Regardless of GID, gender, race, religion, etc. We have a long ways to go as a society and species sadly when stuff like this still happens.

That being said, I'm glad you're ok. And I agree, everyone should take self defense courses of any sort. Focus on what your stronger features are, do some research, and find a fighting style/martial art that uses those features. I have thick strong legs, but not very strong upper body, so I'm looking at Muay Thai kickboxing and Jeet Kun Do (specifically for the mentality of "Take what works, eliminate what doesn't, make it your own" on top of it being the style Bruce Lee brought to the rest of the world).
