Hi all! I'm 27 and started HRT when I was 24 going 25 and attending University in Montreal. I started out with Spiro, a low dose and then ultimately the doctor increased it. Everything was smooth. Was on that for a year and some before finally starting estrogen. That was in September 2012. My treatment with that doctor was stopped because I'd finished Uni and had to leave (not by choice). I was in Florida with my stepmother and was referred to another doctor who decreased my spiro, thinking it too high. I continued on with the estrogen from then to 2014. All my blood tests throughout that time were good. Feminization was occurring, I could see that and I felt validated when strangers referred to me as female. Still I thought that my skin didn't look quite as smooth or glowing as it could be and that my nipples hadn't really popped or changed despite soreness. Facial hair seemed to come back too quickly and I asked about upping my E. My new physician put me on a different dose in April, said it should help with the facial hair and make my skin softer. With the occasional stop and start because I was waiting for meds from inhouse. I had a blood test taken this week and got the results back.
Before I share that, before the tests around May I experienced some painless prickling sensations in my foot and my arm. My doctor said to make sure I got an electrolyte test. Again I started and stopped the meds just to see whether it would go away. Anyway, I no longer had that issue and all was fine save for what felt like an eventually noticeable post nasal drip and throat congestion. End of last month and early this month it felt like my pills weren't going down easily anymore which prompted me to stop so I could work on the congestion or sinuses or whatever. That was for a week but then I returned to taking the meds. The discomfort lead me to do something possibly unadvisable by putting my E under my tongue and the Spiro also. Swallowing any thing left in my mouth. All was fine save for sinuses/congestion/nasal drip feeling. But eventually that feeling felt like it was interfering with my swallowing more so this past week and some which triggered a fear in me or something and I'd been avoiding eat and drinking. If I did so, it'd be very little. I drank hot things and it honestly just felt like there might be an excess of phlegm in my throat that wasn't budging all that much. Food felt like it might not have gone all the way done but then cleared. Last weekend I began to get this lump sensation which went away if I cleared my throat enough or drank tea. But as of this week the lump sensation felt like it would rise or fall, like I ate too much (which I haven't been eating much at all, more soups than anything with the occasional stab at solid) and laid down (which I haven't been doing either). So there's this lump sensation in my throat, sitting upright and I'm thinking it's phlegm or nasal drip causing acid reflux without any burning. After some ginger tea it would settle enough for me to sleep and I'd wake up fine. I've been waking up fine these past few days save for the usual throat congestion on morning. But after my tests on Wednesday (got the results Friday) I'm concerned it might be something more.
Right now I'm sitting typing this and though I've only drank juice today, just to see whether I'd feel that rise in my throat sans food, and I went all day fine and strangely full but since 8 pm, now that it's night, that rise in my throat has come and feels a lot worse in that it's not going down. Again, no pain, no burning, just a sensation of something risen into my throat like I ate too much. Like vomit maybe but without the force and it's just sitting in my throat. I'm wondering whether it might be because of the high level of E, or my liver, or thyroid and it's bee upsetting me because it's the first time I've come to a discomforting point in HRT. It's frightening. I've to to reach my Doc and discuss it still but I was just wondering if anyone else experienced such at all on their HRT.
Sorry for such a long and scatter post.
Mod edit: No dosages please.
