Hi all,
I have been on mrf hrt for just over 3 months now, and am amazed with my results, especially the mental effects and general calmness :-)
My question is, what effects did you feel, such as aches/pains/unusual feelings?
I've always been paranoid over medical issues, and would like to others input too.
I did notice slight pain, actually more of an annoying ache in my leg, it is sometimes in my calf, then knee then other leg, arms, chest, back. so its not localized.
I also get more heartburn and winds than before.
Another thing is my eyesite seems to be improving, wierd...
My next endo appointment is in 3weeks time, and will bring it up with him too.

From what I understand with leg pains get checked for blood clots soon.

I've become more spazzy and forgetful. I've also noticed my moods can swing more easily. Could just be from all the stress that goes along with transitioning/life though...
Overall, I feel Awesome!!!

Im around the 3 month mark too.. the only physical changes are breast growth/sensitivity and the hair on my arms (which i shave) has become much much thinner so i dont have to shave them as often (i just like them super soft) .. No strange or random pains tho..

I had random aches and pains in leg muscles and shoulders during the first couple of months....especially during the first 30 days.

I found that these could be eliminated with an ordinary aspirin, or ibuprofen in the case of the really annoying ones.

Thankfully, these passed once my body adjusted, and now I feel just absolutely incredible.

I had the random calf soreness the first month too...

I wouldn't call it pain, it was more like I had been on a long run the day before....  Just sore and kinda tight.  I think I read somewhere that's kind of a common side effect of Spiro?  If I'm wrong someone please correct me, because I could be.  Also, my biceps did that too, but for a much shorter time, maybe only a day, and now that's gone too so I'm good right now....  Except for nipple soreness, but that's a good thing!  :)

Calf soreness/constant muscle aches can be due to low levels of vitamin k. At least I know it was for me, for a bit I thought I had a blood clot but turns out after taking some supplements for vitamin k it disappeared practically overnight.  Having estrogen as your dominant hormone now makes you much more sensitive to deficiencies and pretty much everything. Also mega important to stay constant about stretching, since we're going through puberty again your body needs more than ever to stay loose, to minimize these aches and pains.

To the OP, do you have a physical job or play sports etc? I have been on HRT for about 6 weeks but have already lost an amazing amount of muscle mass and strength already. I also have to lift the odd heavy thing at work and find I seem to have lots of random aches and pains, especially my upper back which I'm pretty sure is due not being completely used to my new physical limitations.. maybe the same is true for you? I find I also seem to bruise a lot easier too which seems kinda weird, has anyone else found this?

As for those small pains in shoulders, arms, legs etc - I always considered that those are muscle cramps from either lack of hydration (due to spiro) or signs of muscular atrophy (due to T going down). Eventually, they all went away.

Interesting, well I'm not sure if what I get is the same thing but I'm pretty sure what I get is not hydration based as I'm on androcur (not spiro) and have always been a water addict, so hydration shouldn't be an issue. It's so cold where I am right now that I'll put hot water with anything to stay warm lol, I've just discovered hot water with milk which is kinda yum and smells nice, I'm trying to avoid ODing on coffee...

Prior to male puberty, I used to suffer with the most awful migraines. They largely went away after I reached maturity as a guy, but unfortunately seem to have returned since my hormone levels changed again. :/ It doesn't happen all that often, luckily, but it's pretty unbearable when it does happen, and definitely the worst thing about starting to take HRT for me.
