My mother and I had this talk years ago and she told me I would have been named Heather Michelle so that's the name I go by and will have as my legal name when I do the change. My mum named me once, it's only right she get to do so again. :)
Stooping down, dipping my wings, I came into the darkly-splendid abodes. There, in that formless abyss was I made a partaker of the Mysteries Averse. LIBER CORDIS CINCTI SERPENTE-11;4

Growing up, I frequently asked my mom what my name would've been if "I'd been born a boy". It was Benjamin, which I chose because I like it and it felt right to honor my parents' choice. My middle name, James, I took after my father's middle name.
James, as it turns out, was going to be my middle name had I been born with male bits. I kept meaning to ask my mom but never got around to it. It was a choice between Richard (my dad's first name, brother's middle) and James, and James just sounded better. But yeah, inadvertently picked the exact name I was going to get if I'd been born with the right bits. I find it pretty funny, actually.
The more I know, the more I know I don't know.

We were both named after grandparents, so I suppose I would have been named Zaidee or Emma.  Yikes for the Zaidee but i rather like Emma.

My Dr told my mom that I was a girl the whole time so she was pretty set on Karlie.

So when I was born I was technically named Karlie, but my mom had to choose a new name obviously.

She grabbed a bible, dropped it on its spine on the table and it opened to Matthew, and thats that...a bible decided my name, and gave me a terrible one, why couldn't it have been like Genesis, or friggin Corinthians. Life is cruel haha

I already answered this, but as time goes by I have an increasing desire to ask my parents. It would be great if there was a way to communicate with them about just this question and not deal with anything else. I'm pretty sure my dad chose my first name and my mom chose my middle name, but he was a recent convert to protestantism at the time so I think his choice was unrelated to family history. As the firstborn female I was given the middle name that all the family matriarchs had, but it bothered me and I couldn't keep it.

My dad never had any (apparent) boys, and he doesn't even seem to like pets or video games or anything else where you give names, so it's hard to know what kind of name he might have chosen.

I would've been named Elizabeth Anne if I were born right the first time around. I like it, but didn't like it enough to go with that one. I went with a different one, instead.

Seeing as I was named for my Biological Dads side of the family, I'd imagine probably Melinda, Katherine, Marion or Patience after my Mom's side of the family. However; since my Mom never had to consider the option of a girl name she didn't have on set aside. I imagin if she had time to think on it she'd come up with something.

My name would've been David if I'm remembering correctly but I'm too attached to the name I got (Julia), so I go by Jules or Jay.

The people I'm biologically related to told me my name would have been Amber. I like the name Amber and I even thought about using it at one point but I like the name Keira to much so I use it. Though the name I was given is a unisex name I don't like using it.

My father is quite proud of his Scandinavian roots, so my parents had planned to call me Freya. ^^ I thought about using it after I came out, but I figured it was a little bit too exotic to use as a first name if I didn't want to draw attention to myself, and I had another name I wanted to use for personal reasons besides. So instead, I took Freya as my middle name as a kind of tribute to my parents for all the support they showed me after I came out. My old middle name had Scottish roots rather than Norse, so my name shifted from reflecting one side of my heritage to the other. ^^''

My dad would have named me Georgeanna.

...

Such an awful name that it almost makes me glad I was born the wrong gender. :P
  •

Nikola

I would have been Sophie  :) It's a pretty name but I prefer names that are less common.

Haha, my biological mom said she would've named me "David Alexander". I'm not really one for two-names-in-one, and I always liked the name Alexander anyways, so that's... what my name ended up being!

I'm pretty sure my parents would have still named me the same. They're hippies and pretty cool about androgynous weird naming (my dad especially). My birth name is Indigo and I like it enough I'm keeping it as my middle name

Either Kimberly or Joyce. I don't know if I would want to be known as either. Kimberly would probably fine if that's name of my little sister so it would be weird to think of myself by that name.

Elizabeth Rose was what my parents wanted for a girl. Elizabeth after the Queen and Rose for my  Grandmother's name.

We have a tradition of D's  Donna, Donald and Darrol. I am reasonably sure I would have been Dawn from the get go.
