What means healthily three meals?
I want to lose weight and looking for such advices.
Hello Galaxy,
I have been on the LCHF (low carb high fat) diet since May. There are many books and articles on the internet about how to do this diet.
My three meals a day typically
Breakfast
2 fried eggs
2 slices streaky bacon
1 halved fried tomato
5 fried mushrooms
all above fried with coconut oil, which is said to increase metabolism
Lunch
1 portion (half side) of smoked mackerel
2 small chicken thighs
1 generous handful of baby leaf salad
4 baby tomatoes
I keep breakfast and lunch the same during the working week to simplify things, but weekends I vary with other menu choices. For example avocado and mackerel with lime juice and olive oil is a nice breakfast also.
Dinner
This is can be anything that is meat and vegetable based. Usually limit amount of protein to about the area and thickness of palm of hand. Too much protein can convert to glycogen which body would store in fat cells. Vegetables selected are not starchy or root vegetables and should be the greater portion of the meal.
Most of my exercise I do is during the weekend when I am shopping. So get about 2 to 3 hours walking. It is during the weekend I notice the weight loss. Also it has been said that once onto this diet after a month, doing exercise before eating breakfast will cause the body to use the fat stores for energy as it has adjusted to a ketogenic diet.
Before I started this way of eating I used to feel so tired and lethargic when I woke in the mornings. I would have the alarm clock try and wake me several times. However now I usually wake when I feel I have had enough sleep and before the alarm clock tells me. I feel ready to start the day and can take my time to prepare a hearty breakfast and packed lunch without feeling starved.
