Something I have noticed in my transition is that my hips have definitely widened AND rotated to match cis female's hips. I even felt the growing pains which really really hurt. I know that this is exceptionally rare for MTF transsexuals and I was wondering if anyone else had any similar experiences.

Ehm, yes! PLUS my feet shrank and I shortened a few inches in height!

Really, amazing, powerful stuff, this estrogen!

I have relatively wide hips, certainly they are a bit wider than my upper torso. Thing is, I can't remember if they were like that before I went on HRT way back when I was about 23 or whether they changed once I started taking the hormones. Logic would suggest not, since presumably my skeleton should have stopped growing by then - so maybe but maybe not. Certainly they are noticeable now, but that is due to fat distribution this time around.

I guess I was lucky. I seemed to have always had wider hips (pelvic bone wise) than your average male, even years before HRT. In fact it was an ex-girlfriend that pointed out to me that they could almost bear children. Before I started a regime to lose weight I was carrying a fair bit of fat around them. Hopefully when I'm done with cutting the muscle mass and fat elsewhere, it'll start depositing back there again when I introduce some more carbs back to my diet.

Since being on HRT it has been easier to rotate the hips forward and it is something I consciously try and do so that it sticks and becomes part of my natural posture. Speaking of which, my posture has greatly improved too since HRT. I no longer slouch all hunched up when I walk. It's hips forward and bum out. Chest out and shoulders back. With the added bonus that my boobs seem even more pronounced.
Nobody's perfect ...   I'll never try,
But I promise I'm worth it, if you just open up your eyes,
I don't need a second chance, I need a friend,
Someone who's gonna stand by me right there till the end,
If you want the best of my heart, you've just gotta see the good in me.

Someone trying to help me with my posture once said, "shoulders back and stick out your boobs! show us that you're proud of them!"

I laughed, but it really was pretty good advice too ;)

My pelvis definitely rotated into a more "female" position, but I think that was more about fat distribution (it changes the center of gravity/balance and therefore the comfortable resting position to have a bigger butt and thighs). The actual bone structure hasn't changed that I can tell.

It depends..... If your pelvis is not fused yet (which happends as late as 25) it should get wider. You can tell if they are widening when your pubic bones crack and pop and your ileum(hip wing) hurts. To say ''m2f transexuals hip bones do not change'' is false and a myth. To be honest, the first change i experienced after starting hrt(even before my boobs)was that my pelvis got wider. But i was around 12 when that happened, so i think it's different for everyone. Kim Petras also started hrt around my age but she has rather narrow hips, so it may be a genetic thing. Who knows ???

Yep it happened to me, I got the pains too. I gained about 3 inches in my hips within the first 4 months of hrt and it wasn't fat. I didn't gain any substantial weight till about a year and a half in.

Also, even if the bones themselves don't change, according to wikipedia:

"The hips will rotate slightly forward due to changes in the tendons so hip discomfort is not uncommon."

Yep you are absolutely correct.
If you haven't stopped growing, feminizing hormone will cause your bones to feminize. Smaller hands, feet, slightly stunted growth, smaller upper body, and a wider lower half (hips).
For me, personally, starting transition at 19 I had a bit of change in the hip department. From absolutely nothing to a bit of bone growth (genuinely!) and lots of fat redistribution. I was still growing, luckily.

The "problem" with me and other late(R) transitioners is that the masculinization has already commenced... so my shoulders are almost as wide as my hips, as well as a larger rib cage. This means you can still strive for the coveted hour glass figure however say goodbye to the "pear" shape.

If your transitioning later in life (20s+) do NOT expect a change in bone growth, sorry. However you can still get lots of fat redistribution! I have seen older ladies that look quite "plump" down there...

This is what happened to me. I started hormones at 22 years old so it is entirely possible that my bones haven't fused yet. I definitely got that crack and pop thing going on and of course my hip wing hurts like a bitch...

I just recently found out I'm Intersex, and as such I have female bone structure, including my hips.  And also found out last night I walk like a girl as well.

Only if they are just on puberty blockers!  Since sex hormones like estrogen fuse the bone plates...I should be around 5'10 normally but im just 5'6, cause i also started estrogen at the same time.

Well good for you ;) Grow some lady hips gurrlll:))
Ps: if the pain get's worse, you could apply some progesterone cream at your hip wings. It should help to relax your pelvis and make it easier for rotating and widening ;)
