L thought I'd post this here. My problem is I've been on hormones for 5 years. Have a big A cup or small B. What I've noticed is with the development. There is no change in my nipple
shaft size and barley and areola change. I dont know whats wrong here. I dont know if its just me or normal. But, sure I have breasts now, but, they are still topped with male nipples. I want
female nipples. So, I thought I'd post this here and see if any of you can help. So, I can ask my endo for a change to something that will help and hopefully I'll get a little bigger in cup size also.

Your Endo is the best possible person to talk to about this.  Sorry but can't give you any factual advise on nipple development.  Mine never changed much either, about the only thing i'm prone to notice about them is they seem to get harder and stand out at such times for various reasons I haven't really figured out.  I never really thought much about the nipple area but if it bothers you, then like I say, the Endo will likely have specific knowledge about such things.  I wouldn't expect many T's on hormones to know much about that specific detail, but regardless of what anyone might suggest, the doctors will know as much about it as they can help you with and thats whats important.

Also different women have different sized nipples and areoli. Some as small as most men's nipples, some larger.

thought it was  alittle weird. So, decided to ask.

I've been on HRT for about 10 months now.  I've developed to an A Cup, but like many my nipple size hasn't changed that much either. They are a lot more sensitive, but as Terri sugested it would be better to consult your endo or doctor.

I have been on hormones since 2000 and I had some bigger nipples as a man. Right now they are probably a little bigger than they were before. I do know that, just like it was pointed out above, womens nipples will vary. So don't be alarmed at what you have. Ask your endo, but I imagine they will say the same.
Stephanie, you have been on hormones for 10 months and you have an A all ready. You also lost weight. You go girl. It has taken me this long to get to a B cup. I'm on my diet again and have lost 7 lbs since the 1st.

It is said that it takes two years for the breast to mature and I found that to be true my nipples stayed pretty much normal until about two years in. Even now with the problems I am having being off the hormones I still have puffy nipples and they ache like you wouldnt believe but the body of them has reduced somewhat. I would expect that you could reach a B cup but if that hasnt happened by the two year mark then a large A may be all that you get but the nipple area will certainly grow a little more. I had large doses of Aldactone and Andocur when I first started and this could be the reson why I have lovely nipples now. Different meds have different outcomes too.

Sara's comments regarding different medications can affect the growth of the nipples are correct.  During puberty girls grow nipples from a certain combination of hormones.  The combination of hormones to grow nipples is different than the combination of hormones to grow breasts.  The second way woman increase their nipples is when they breast feed.

My nipples have grown very little from hormones; however, there are certain combinations of hormones that can mimic female puberty that can be prescribed by a doctor.  Supposedly nipples can grow fast relative to breasts since nipples have very little mass.  If you want larger nipples probably you will be successful with the right combination of hormones.

I think the growth of the areola can also be somewhat problematic for MTF.  They have grown bigger for me (1.5 inches) but are small compared to a genetic female.  Have others experienced little growth in the areola?

I do think you can be very successful growing nipples if that is your desire.  However once they large they will stay large.
