I went shopping today in the city. I had some meetings but decided to check out a new computer ( a Mac!!) and of course shoes and skirts.

I was stopped twice in the Mall by people I didn't know saying 'I saw you on TV the other day, you were great and it is so important'.  Mmm maybe acceptance is here.

So I go to the Mac store and a shop assistant comes to me straight away and I ask about a MacPro or MacAir, he shows me and is very attentive. I finish my enquiries and thank him for being so attentive and helpful.

He says, 'No worries' (It is Australia :laugh:) I saw you on TV and thought you were great.

Mmmm

We are winning !!

Ahhh I have the invite already  :laugh: and 4 Corners, Australia story, and Compass to discuss marriage issues, spirituality and trans*. Current Affair I just laughed at and turned down. See Sydney morning Herald Saturday page 3; Caitlin is in, we are not chipping, we are jack hammering. We are going to rock the place, trans* issues will be front page.

Don't be modest or minimize your role in changing the world.  One day the US will catch up to the folks down under and in Scandinavia.  Till then I for one, look to you for courage and guidance.  I cannot tell you how much I admire and love my brothers and sisters from OZ.

If you would like to include a foreigner in your many interviews I would love an all expense paid vacation! *giggle*  ;D

Seriously though, did you ever think you would be acting in this capacity as an advocate ever in such a high profile way?  :)

and julie, please don't give scandinavia too much credit. i'd be transitioning already if not for the government doing all they can to obliterate genderqueer.
serious normativists. even binary transgender identity isn't acknowledged without sterilization in norway. i hope they'll soon follow denmark on this though.

No I didn't. I am quite shy (truly). I have spent days hiding under the bedsheets too frightened and too dysphoric too function. As you know I lived on anti-depressants and booze (not a good combination as we know! :laugh:). And I did cover the mirrors, no longer!!

But you people gave me inspiration.

We deserve life, we deserve happiness and I shall do my best to make sure we have both.

I am amazed at the amount of positive publicity lately, speakers like yourself, trans actresses, beauty pageant queens, fashion models etc.. 5 years ago there was almost nothing reported publically...
