I made the arrangements to drive the six hours it takes for me to get to Howard Brown and attend all three appointments this weekend with the first appointment (blood work) being on Friday and the advocate appointment & follow up medical on Monday.

The only problem is that it looks like my period is starting today or tomorrow. I know one of the things they're testing for is levels of estrogen and testosterone in the body and that being on your period raises estrogen and decreases testosterone to some extent (right?) Will they still do my blood work knowing that the results could potentially be skewed from my average???

I made a bunch of arrangements that I can't easily cancel (getting excused classes, room and board, etc) and if I can't even get the blood work done I'll be pretty much devastated. I haven't been able to find any info about this online. Do any of you guys have experience with this??? I'll call them tomorrow if not but I have super bad phone anxiety and it'd be so much easier if someone here knew the answer.

I have never heard it being a problem for us getting lab work done while you are bleeding or at any other time during the month.  Call just to be sure and let us all know the answer.

Thanks for the responses, I'm feeling a lot better about everything. And possibly my brain is manufacturing reasons to be nervous (yay anxiety) but I'll still try to call them tomorrow and confirm. If I find out anything interesting on the topic I'll let you guys know.

Actually estrogen is at it's lowest during your period.

Heh, apparently my memories from health class and six seconds of internet research can't be trusted. Thanks for the correction :)
