Anyone familiar with blood donation, got stories for me?

I've been on T for years.  Is that a disqualifier?  On the Red Cross website, it does say that post menopausal women on HRT are allowed, but that is all it says.  I read that I will have to list medications that I am on and give health histories and such; will they ask me to explain why I am on T?  It wouldn't kill me to admit being trans, but I really don't want to.

I don't know whether it's an automatic disqualifier (I don't think so?) but imo ''I take supplimental testosterone because my levels are low. It was prescribed to me by my doctor.'' would be honest and sufficient without necessarily outing you.

Fwiw, I'm like 90% sure that it won't bar you from donating. Report back when you find out tho, yeah?

I had no problems in this respect. I do have issues with my local blood bank's insistence that I be coded as female because I have not had bottom surgery. They just lost themselves a viable donor.

::) ::) Some people.

Will indeed report back.  It's a blood drive coming to my college in a few weeks.

I've actually heard of some FTM's needing to donate blood because they produce too much and the endo's tell them that they need to donate at least once a month.

You'll be fine...so long as you don't have sex with men. If you're a man who has sex with men you're banned.

Do you have to disclose to them that you're trans?  In regards to donating blood, what's the difference between artificially-created male T levels vs. gonad-created T levels???

If you are legally male and have no prior history with the blood bank, then I should think that you have nothing to tell.

It's not. I know guys with high red blood counts that go in and give to help in this condition.
T can cause this condition.
