Does seeing a gender therapist affect background checks say for work? Unfortunately during my coming out conversation my wife referred to me as "crazy" a few times and warned me that I could have problems for seeking help. I was talking to an attorney and he was saying basically it only affects you if you are committed to an institution. What about things like suicide attempts or thoughts of dying?

They are private records. For all they know, you went for help with getting through a divorce, grief, pain management or any number of other things.

It all stays private. You have nothing to worry about. LordKat is right. only if you get committed does something even show up. Hugs
