Lumps on the top of V shaped scar

Following my surgery in July, I had 2 little lumps on the very ends of the V shaped scar on my vagina, like where the top stitches would be either side. I thought this would just subside with time but they are still prominent. Has anyone else had this and they have faded? Or know what to do about them?

I'm wondering about this too. I'm 5 mos post op and still have them, they have smoothed a little and also softened a little, but are still there. Right below the lumps I also have a slight indentation that seems somehow connected to the lumps, they also have gotten better.

Hopefully with time everything will smooth out. My doc says to give it time.

Thanks for the reply was beginning to think it was just me! Hopefully they will subside like everything else has!

I have some at the base - around perenium - where the deep stitches were to ensure stability whilst sitting etc. it is probably deep scar tissue which will take time to work out. Gently massaging the scar tissue daily and having a good water intake probably helps. Mine keep changing shape - I have a square lump now - but it is not painful or sore.

If they become sore or are black it is worth getting checked - even if it is just a case of having new blood vessels growing through (as happened a few weeks back)

I had lumps all over my vulva (well mostly my labia... or shld I say lack thereof)... they go away on their own (how they do is still a human anatomy miracle to me lol). I had a huge one that just completely vanished with time's help. Don't worry :)

I have an inch of scar on the mons pubis where I can still feel the stitches underneath. They haven't dissolved, but appear to have become encapsulated. I had the same problem with scars underneath my arms with breast augmentation. In that case, I had stitches still coming out at least 10 years after the surgery. Stitches seem to have a problem dissolving in my body. I can see that they may to have to be cut out eventually, but they're not causing pain or infection. It's been 12 months since srs.

A bit of your timing depends on the surgeon who did you.  Some use extensive stitches that are under the visible tissue, and those will take a longer time to be absorbed by the tissue and scars healed.  I am 21 months post op, and I had relatively few stitches beneath the outer skin, and it was between 14 and 18 months that the last of my scars really settled down.  A goodly number of my possibly remaining suture marks are well covered by pubic hair.

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

Three months post op isn't that long for swelling to go down, I was still seeing a reduction in swelling and a change of shape 18 months post op.
