I've decided (after a recent acne breakout) that the time to start making my face more feminine is now. This will include gradually wearing makeup most days (hopefully my parents won't find it). I had an audition today for All-District band and I felt terrible because I couldn't put any makeup or lip gloss on before I went :'(. I'm committed to this and really want to start a beauty regimine. Do any of you ladies have any helpful advice? I have no idea where to start.
Kisses,
Kayla

What Hana said. Also...

1) Learn your skin type (Oily, normal, dry) and plan your routine accordingly
2) Mud masks (Google this, there are different kinds)
3) If you're living with parents you aren't out to, and not on your own, DO NOT WEAR MAKEUP around them. I did this. Once. It ended badly.
4) If that avatar is the real you, you've nothing to worry about! You're hot already!
5) If acne is your concern, your routine should involve oil-free products. Look into Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide. It's not expensive if done right.

PM me if you want - I've been studying up on this stuff in anticipation of cosmetology school next year.

Salicylic Acid face wash twice a day 12 hours apart, followed by a 2% salicylic acid moisturizer, add some retin A gel which helps feminize skin, don't use retin A cream because it can clog pores. Use retin A before bed. PM me if you wish, I transitioned as a teenager age 14. God bless you in this journey.

If you have acne issues my best advice is to seek a good dermatologist... Nothing over-the-counter worked for me, only a good dermatologist :)
Retin A is great for skin renewing,  but if you do use it make sure you wear sunscreen everyday.
Also, wearing makeup everyday might be bad on your skin... Make sure you get an oil free foundation and try it out for about a week on a spot on your face to make sure it doesn't  make you break out... When I wore foundation everyday I had acne... Funny enough, now that I don't, getting a pimple is pretty rare... But this is just my skin,  your skin might be less sensitive :)
Moisturizer is a must.  I use face finishing by Perricone MD and I like it a lot :)
Wearing sunscreen everyday will keep your face younger and looking nicer...  An exfoliation once a week is also really good :)

Thanks Gabi!
Where do you get face finish? I've never heard of it before?

I get it at sephora. I used to like olay's total effects 7-in-1 before, it's cheaper... The olay one has spf, so you don't need to put sunblock afterwards, which is nice :) But I feel like the face finishing moisturizer by perricone MD is nicer... if you're on a budget or are lazy(like me ;D) I'd say try the olay

On the skin care

I never had a pimple until I was 25, had 2 since, all 3 times was when I stopped drinking water.

A few other things I do.

I change my pillow cases every 2 days.
I wash my face in the morning & night, never go to sleep when make up on at all, exfoliate twice a week, always use a good toner and moisturiser.
I have next to no chocolate, I stay away from oily foods, I run and work out daily, showering afterwards.
Use face products that are made for your skin, don't use out of date make up (you'll know by the small),

Now as for wearing it around your parents, wear something simple like a basic BB cream that blends in well with your skin.
Yes! I'm single
And you'll have to be pretty f'ing amazing to change that

Go to Walgreens and buy a big bottle of Witchs Hazel for $5.  Dab it onto a cloth or cotton balls and rub your entire face with it twicea day.  The best and cheapest toner I have ever used.  Thats the main ingredient in all those acne clear toner sets.  Save yourself some money.
Is it progression if a cannibal uses a fork?

Bb cream is definitely the best to wear around your parents. My issue with bb creams is that most only have 3 or so shades and I'm somewhere in between a light and medium...
To try to find your shade you can use a website called "findation", you put a shade of foundation you wear and it gives you many matches in different foundations and even bb creams :) it's pretty good.
If your face is dry make sure you use a toner that doesn't have alcohol as an ingredient, as it's very drying on the skin. If it's oily then it doesn't really matter haha

This is really good advice. Do all of the above. Also, use a good natural moisturizer, and drink lots of water.

Easiest way to check the right shade in store is try a tiny bit from the testers on the underside of your wrist.

you can do this quickly in most stores.

The other option is just go up and ask someone at a make up store or department, they don't care and chances are have gay or trans friends so will be very helpful, they'll get the right shade of BB cream and you'll be set

I don't use any creams anymore to improve skin. It just doesn't work. I stopped after a bb cream gave me a massive rash that lasted for two weeks. Never again.

Best advice: drink lots of water, eat healthy diet. Beauty comes from the inside.
