After two years in hormones my face is still somewhat gaunt and hasn't filled out under the check bone area. THIS SUCKS!!!

I'm trying to drop my weight 10kg's to get rid of lingering muscle and then putting the 10kg's back on in fat to see if that helps.

I'm also thinking of fillers but it would be nice to know of at least one example where a M2F started hormones with gaunt face, still had gaunt face after a couple of years then over the next few years their face filled in and became all rounded.

Can anyone relate?

As a general rule if your face hasn't changed after a year it most probably wont.

Again I said in general, but if your body was build to be skinny then I doubt hormones can fight all your natural characteristics. I know this isn't very supportive but its not meant to make you sad in fact I am commenting to offer your other solutions such as fat injects. Also you should rather try gain weight then lose as fat generally goes to your face last so you will need to add a bit before you even try to lose.

HRT is sadly not a magic super drug but rather some hormones that can only do so much.
Awww no my little kitten gif site is gone :( sad.

I would say after 2 years perhaps. Generally I expect the face to change during the 1 1/2 - 2 year period. As someone else has said on these boards, hrt can make the face gaunt before filling out.

As for the OP, I would consider possibly saving for procedures but you may possibly be a late bloomer.

Interesting I think I am going through this exact thing. I used to have chubby cheeks now I feel my face is somewhat gaunt looking and I was wondering if it will refill out in a more female manner. This quote has my interest peaked. I am at the 13 month mark approximately so I was thinking the next 6-8 months the changes will really start coming in.

It interested me too! This is the thread I found this insight from: (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,176786.0.html). If you scroll down to user Carrie Liz's experiences you'll find it to be quite optimistic! As someone who is on their 14th month now, I certainly hope this is the case.

Thanks for finding the link. Carries experience is eerily similar to mine. I thought my face was going backwards and getting angular rather than rounder. I guess I am at the cusp of turning another corner and I am excited that I am not delusional and the months coming up are going to bring the goodness in. I am pretty happy overall except for this effect and now I see others go through something similar and positive results are coming, thanks!

I have to say I am experiencing this from the opposite direction. Before HRT and dieting my face was seriously round and fat. It has taken ages for the fat to go from my face. There is still puffiness from excess skin and some residual fat in my jowls. My relatives used to tease me and tell me I had a big round ball for a head  >:(

Given enough time the body will do what it needs to ensure the correct amount of sub-cutaneous fat is evenly distributed according to your overall body weight. Failing that, as other have already mentioned albeit a bit extreme IMHO, there's always fillers to plump them up.

I think CarrieLiz said in another thread that overall 10% new fat cells can grow in a year, so maybe if the conditions are right then some may grow naturally in your cheeks too.
Nobody's perfect ...   I'll never try,
But I promise I'm worth it, if you just open up your eyes,
I don't need a second chance, I need a friend,
Someone who's gonna stand by me right there till the end,
If you want the best of my heart, you've just gotta see the good in me.

Perhaps there is hope yet. My first year hormonal changes sucked, I mean what changes? But things have came on in the past year so it is possible I'm just a late bloomer. Failing all that, facial filler.

Fat won't "move" from one part to another so maybe losing few pounds then regaining may help but 10kg is a lot and will probably cause few hormones to be unbalanced. Try with 2 pounds maybe (like 2 weeks on a 1400 calories and 2 weeks on a 2200 calories). Cardio may help to burn fat immediatly so your body is gonna build new as soon as you eat back (Few peoples on HRT see faster "fat redistribution" by doing low cardio frequently.)

Are you taking spironolactone as your anti-androgen?
