I think it depends on what you take, like I've herd that some progestins n progesterone causes weight gain, but I know that Spironolactone will causes weight loss, I was using it at a mid dose n had to drop it right down to a low does, because I got far to thin n it messed with some other hormone called aldosterone n that messed with my nose n made me sniff alot because Spironolactone will block aldosterone in the adrenal glads but not some place in the nose, or something like that, it's one Med that really needs to, be monitored closely, so be shore to get your self a doctor, NO one else can give the proper treatment or advice.
Thank-you scorpions...

For looking like Goth lobsters.

Wow, I could have sworn I've been on HRT for longer.
O well this ticker will help me keep track.

It depends on the person but personally I got the short stick and have real trouble losing weight these days. But have hope you may not get the short stick!

I had no real net change in weight for the first six months I was on HRT. My weight was hovering around 75-76Kg (165-167lb). It wasn't until I changed my eating habits that the weight really started coming down. I was on the LCHF diet and at one point my weight was down to 63.5Kg (140lb), but the chocolate was calling  so I caved in. As of now I weigh about 10Kg (22lb) less than I did before I started at 65Kg (143lb) whilst eating a little more of the stuff I avoided during LCHF.

I think there is still potentially more weight for me to lose through muscle loss via HRT, as there are still areas where the old chunky male muscles persist, but at least anything I eat now will more likely go down as fat than muscle :)

So in my experience at least it is possible to lose weight with HRT.
Nobody's perfect ...   I'll never try,
But I promise I'm worth it, if you just open up your eyes,
I don't need a second chance, I need a friend,
Someone who's gonna stand by me right there till the end,
If you want the best of my heart, you've just gotta see the good in me.

I am somewhere within the same range as pre-HRT - it seems for me to be very hard to drop weight below 70kg but at the moment I am very determined and will see if insane regular cardio could do that trick. Except, my fat has redistributed quite extensively and there is great deal of muscle mass reduction (I used to wear L size mens' clothing but now it is S).

Last Wednesday I started HRT and as of this morning, I've lost around 16 pounds (7.25kg) since.  My experience, it is helping lose weight... but every 'body' is different, it's just what card is given to you.  Wish there were wild cards on other things :)

Well, losing that much in less than a week is not very healthy...

I am 100 days in, 90 of which were at a low dose, and so far I've lost 7kg/16ihs lb. The catch is that I've been consuming about 3k calories a day and really, I do not do much sport at the moment, once a week or twice if am lucky. I don't even walk that much because I work at home.

You'd think I'd be a fat cow now. And am 5ft11'' and weight now 68kg/144ish lb. It seems low to me but I am not worried at the moment because I think my body looks and feels OK, my cis GF thinks am thinner but that healthwise I look just fine. I've my energy, I don't get sick, I sleep OK. But frankly, it's still not a super weight I think?

My theory is that with the HRT your body might need a lot of energy to make the HRT-related changes happen. I can only say that this question is strongly linked to your metabolism. I'm just really hungry and feel like I have to keep eating tons. Both sides of my family are thin/very thin.

Wow - everyone losing weight except me. :(

Spiro made me drop about 5lbs (water weight - it's a diuretic), but estradiol has put on pound after pound after pound, about 15 in total over three months.  Granted, I haven't been watching what I eat particularly closely, and I imagine being a bit of a pig has caused the weight gain rather than the medication acting directly, although the hormones make me hungry as a horse.

Time to watch the food intake, I think.

I was losing 2 to 4lbs a week prior of HRT... but since HRT, it's skyrocketed.  I go back to the doctor soon and he'll tell me what I need to do more or less... but, I am on a 900 calorie diet at the moment, I am sure he'll want to raise this and have me a little more calories.

Same as Leila I lost about 10kg on HRT, my stomach seem so small since I started. If I manage to eat the same amount of before i'm totally bloated and feel like I'm about to roll onthe floor.

Your metabolism will slow down for sure so you'll need about 10% less food to maintain your weight. Don't respond to all single crave you got and  you should be fine.

I am only on Estradiol but have not noticed any weight loss or gain, or any muscle loss yet, and I'm in my 14th month. Granted I'm quite slender but I expected some muscle drop by now.
