I was wondering, when going for GRS, is it possible to have the genitals (including testicles) removed but not have a "cavity" and an opening? I only ask, because the idea of having GRS done one day is more prefereble to transitioning and keeping all the "external plumbing", but I don't really relish the idea of having to dialate. My reason for this, is that I don't really like the idea of having sexual intercourse as either male or female (with either of their respective genitals), although if I were to transition, I'd like to have something of a relatively smooth/flat area, much like a ciswoman would have.

Does anyone know if such a thing is possible with GRS?

Some surgeon offer a cosmetic version of GCS. You would have everything but the neo vagina.

I'm not fond of the idea of dilating either... but I figured I'd remain a non-op, but I am thinking that could change.

Doesn't your birth defect shrink down in size anyway?

That is what happens in the majority of cases, but it still means that if you go the non-op route, that you'll still have Mr. Winkle hanging around, but just in reduced size.

I think of myself as asexual, so the thought of sexual intercourse is something that I really dislike, hence why I wouldn't want to dialate

So what would it look like, just the end of the penis sitting flush with the top of the thighs, like a vigina, but not exactly like one? What does GCS stand for, Genital Corrective Surgery? If it was possible to go down that route, it would be good.

I believe GCS stands for Gender Confirmation Surgery?

"Cosmetic" GRS looks exactly like the kind with a vagina - there's  inner and outer labia, clitoris and hooding, and urethral repositioning - but where the vagina would be is about a 1" "dimple" instead of a full vaginal canal. Basically, it's exactly what it sounds like you're asking for; identical to a cis woman's in every respect except that there's no vagina and therefore no dilation.

Re: the cosmetic-only option, I assumed I would never want anyone between my legs. Now that I have a vagina, curiously, I find that I'm now interested in penetrative sex. My sexual interests actually changed. Though I'm somewhat different from you, in that having a vagina was always important to me.

Have to check the state your BC Is issued for there requirements. Lots of changes had happened.

I believe *most* states that require irrevocable genital surgery would consider this to count - you sure as heck don't have a penis anymore, and can you imagine the hassles (and the complaints!) if they required a minimum vaginal depth?  Honestly, I could be wrong, but I don't think the lawmakers are usually even well enough informed on GRS options to know this is out there...
