I don't take them as rules but as positive affirmations.
i.e. "You are confined only by the walls you build yourself." - Anon
I don't see that as an absolute rule but it echoes true with myself and I know with many other trans people. We built walls and let ourselves be confined behind them, believing in the walls instead of ourselves.
I'm not trying to tell people to "do this" or "do that" but to affirm, that throughout human endeavors, not just with trans people, that we all struggle, we all need positive affirmations, and we all should have faith in ourselves, our own hearts, and to try to be ourselves, above all else.
