A while back now my doctor told me I should start taking vitamin D + calcium, but not so long after
I was watching a video on YouTube n this one girl (mtf) said she takes vitamin D+calcium, Biotin, prenatal vitamins and a multi vitamin.
So I'm just wondering do you take vitamins and if so what vitamins do you take?

Definitely. I got the heads up on that when I told my doctor I was vegetarian (not any more) but now I'm off Spiro n now on bicalutamide (as of yesterday) I'm thinking of going back to my veggie diet.

I would advise not to stack up too many multivitamins and food supplements, because quite often various elements overlap and You can get nasty side-effects. Last Christmas I got sudden increase in ALAT test (liver enzimes) - normal range is <41, around 120 means You are close to hepathitis, and I had 80. I panicked and thought that this was because of oral estrogen delivery, but after I cut down all vitamins (biotine, prenatals, B-vitamin complex, iodine and folic acid) it stopped and my endo confirmed that sometimes having way too much vitamins, elements etc can too cause extra stress to liver.
I am only taking fish oil, biotine and during breast growth spurts - iodine. I switch folic acid in and out but might use it more regularly next year due to change of AAs from Spiro to Androcur.

I would support vit D. Many people are D deficient and it is essential for bone health when on E. You can't take too much as excess is pee'd out.

You CAN take to much vitamin D, it is soluble in fats so is actually a very dangerous one to be overdosing on, but the up take in taking orally is not very efficient so your looking at 30-50k ui a day. I'm pretty sure vitamin C is the only one you don't have to worry about as that will just pass freely through urinating, all the others can be harmful if you've to much. Potassium from vegetables while on potassium sparing meds is usually fine, maybe hold back on the potatoes if your likely to want a whole bag for a meal (I'm more a rice kinda girl) but its more things like salt substitutes you need to watch out for.

I was vitamin D deficient and it was causing me unpleasant health issues. I'd been not been getting out much, too much work and depression. I was taking tablets for it for a while, but got a vitamin D injection that's good for 6 months. I don't think its true to say you can't take too much though, as there's plenty of hits if you google vitamin d overdose.

I've read a fair number of articles in recent years suggesting that high doses of vitamins are actually harmful. Here's a couple of links on the subject.

I shall apologise and change my post , it is difficult to take too much vit D. Most women are deficient (particularly in Australia). You can take too much of just about anything - particularly potatoes!

Too much of everything (potatoes included) = too much of calories :). Sad but true... even when eating healthy it does not count when calory intake is way over the top.

Be careful taking "D". Our doctor suggested "D" for both my wife and me and it caused problems for both of us.  It caused me problems with my TMJ and muscles.  I took it for only 2 -3 weeks but it took about 6 months for the adverse symptoms to go away.

I second this. I went to an arthritis doc and she prescribed me this. However I simply tossed the script and bought a big bottle OTC from Costco and took the same dose she prescribed. Reason being insurance wouldn't cover supplements and their vitamin D was like $30 for 30 days supply when Costco is like 1/5th the cost for a whole lot more.

I've been on D and B12 for several years. My Dr. says deficiencies in those are endemic in this region.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

My doctor stresses Vitamin D. For both health and its effects on mood.

D, C, prenatal s are cheap and very well balanced. D is essential, C is good for skin and hair, E for hormonal balance.

Regarding vitamin D, you can have a blood test to check it. There's no point in supplements if you don't need it, and I think its best to avoid too much.

More importantly I initially took the the recommended dose of vitamin D and I was still deficient, although it did clear up a problem I was having. I wouldn't have known without the blood test. I had to eat heaps of them to get my levels up to normal, and was told that peoples absorption rate varies. It was getting a bit of a hassle, and that's when I changed over to injection. I'm very curious to see my level on the next test. It reminds me of estrogen patches, as I had exactly the same problem before changing to implants.

Apparently there's also two types of vitamin D, vitamins D2 and D3. Its worth searching with google, as it seems D3 is what we need, not D2.
