Hi, Lori,

I don't know of any proven connection between estrogen HRT and cheese or other dairy consumption, however...

Potato chips with sour cream dip works for me.  Any cheese besides Limburger is on my list.

I believe that at HRT has the potential to make one's appetite far keener.  I have curves where there weren't any and my jeans fit nicely and show-off my bum (butt to those who believe that a bum can only be a person).

I love fresh-sliced deli cheese in a sandwich or with almost any meats from the deli.  Last night I had a picnic eating garlic salami and lightly-smoked provolone.

Tonight I went out for supper and I had my lasagna fix.  Plenty of cheese there, too.

And I love chocolate.  I had a friend who had a tag line under her pic that read, "Give me the chocolate and no one gets hurt."  LOL!!!

I believe I'll go to the fridge and see what needs my immediate attention.

P.S.  Especially good after a grilled cheese with tomato soup made with milk, or pasta, or a grilled steak, or a Philly cheese steak hoagie, or grilled salmon, or a pot of my jambalaya, or...

Me thinks you are hungry right now LOL.

I try to limit my calorie intake to 1400-1500 a day and ...well cheese is like huge chunks of calories and fat all mixed into everybite. If would all go to my breasts, hips and thighs....I wouldnt be too upset :)

HRT has altered my food cravings significantly. I can't stand anything sweet any more. I have to be careful with sweets because they throw my blood sugar out of whack. Now I crave vegetarian protein of all sorts--cheese not so much, but I go for eggs and yogurt more than ever. I also crave vegetable curry to an extreme degree, vegetarian biryani, vegetarian Thai food, any sort of Asian noodles with tofu, miso soup, veggie-lover pizza with broccoli, minestrone, chili, salsa, gazpacho, green salads--anything savory and not sweet. Spicy vegetables are my favorite food in the world.

Currently my strongest food craving has become hot chili peppers, the hotter the better--preferably habañero. But that's probably less a result of HRT and more a matter of my own sensuousness. Although hot chili peppers have a macho reputation, the two hottest eaters I know, who have influenced me to turn up the heat to blazing, are both women. One woman is trans, makes her own habañero purée that is strong enough to eat through concrete, and she gobbles it like ice cream. The other woman is cisgender, and really goes for the extreme heat--she gave me a bottle of Dave's Insanity Sauce which is made with essential extract of Capsicum. She's just a shy little woman but reduces strong men to gasping and crying for mercy with her ability to consume extreme chilis.

I read in Julia Serano's book Whipping Girl that HRT gave her a strong craving for eggs. I got that too. But when I see her name, all I can think of is she has the same name as a variety of hot chili pepper! Huevos rancheros... mmm....

lol, wow. I dont have any fantasies of whiping my butt with a snowcone to cool things down. I cannot even eat hot sauce, much less all of that. Omg, it would kill me. Thank god I'm hooked on cheese!!

Being a central texas native ( although I have lived all over ), cheese is a main sample of our diet.  Cheese is in Mexican food, in Italian food, in American food.  We deep fry it ( would post the site but been told not too ), along with chocolate, peanut butter and Bananas, chocolate chip cookie dough, oreos, coke (? - made in a dough), pickles, cheescake, and corndogs.

But the one thing I crave on a daily basis is a good SALSA.  You know - very flavorful with just the right amount of spice to make you sweat.   And Salsa goes great with Cheese....

Is it Lunchtime yet!!!

While enjoying a salad at lunch today, I bit down on a chunk of feta cheese and released an ecstatic flavor burst of intensely salty/tart/fatty goodness. By Hera, that stuff has it all. I remembered this thread and all the cheese lovers who've posted here. I get intense cravings for feta and olives now, partly my Hellenic heritage but also I think HRT has shifted my taste preferences dramatically toward things salty, savory, and proteinaceous.

All my senses feel so much more alive on estrogen.

Cheese does have mildly addictive substances in it that trigger the pleasure centers of the brain. :)

Reading this thread has got me rushing to the fridge for a large chunk of Saint Agur with a fistful of rocket / ruccola leaves and a glass of Sauvignon ....

Not sure if my now "sensible" level of hrt triggers food cravings, but I have always loved cheese, especially mature creamy blues, Gorgonzola, Dolcetta, Pont L'Eveque, ripe Stilton !

Oozing Brie / soft sharp Chevre !

Even Cheddar / Red Leicester melted over toasted bread and onion !

Emmental Quiches, Mozzerella Pizzas, Cheese & Bacon Omelettes ?

Always have craved for savoury and calorie infested things which my diet tells me "NO" !  Meat pies, fried chicken, french fries, all become occassional "treats" and are elevated to a level of "craving" ....

So for now Curd / Cottage Cheese / Ricotta / Feta and olives have to do .... and I've not put on a pound all through the four years of my transition / hrt / srs !

I love cheese, but in very small amounts.  AND I love Wallace and Gromit, I've got them all on DVD!

Wallace: Ah, but I do like a bit of gorgonzola!
