Would I pass if I transitioned? Would you do it if you still couldn't pass??

Indoctrinated

How about the opposite: not passing as a guy?

For instance: choosing tea over beer, salad over meat, talking about clothes rather than cars...

Well I'm 59 and have years of testosterone poisoning so I'll never be able to pass 100%. That said, GD usually gets worse as you get older and I'm nearing the point where I'm planning to begin transition whatever the outcome. At some point you just say damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. For me it will mean losing my wife and son and over the holidays I hope to be able to talk to my family and let them in on what I'm planning. Generally the more committed and along you are, the family may be more accepting and less likely to try and talk you out of it. But yes, eventually you have to be true to yourself or the pain and stress may become unbearable. Better to transition younger than older.

Hi Traci,

Thank you. I wish you the best luck on beginning your transition! I do have to ask, the testosterone did absolutely nothing for getting rid of the dysphoria? I havent seen much on this topic as to suppress or eliminate the dysphoria with testosterone...

In my case as an MtF transwoman, what I was referring to was the natural testosterone all my life poisoning my system and making me look more male, especially at age 59. Even FFS will not be able to cure all the damage, but I'm hopeful it can alleviate some of the disfigurement. (being overly harsh) Point, even though I won't be able to pass 100%, I do believe I'll be much happier, even with the other losses.

Best to you!

Hugs,
