Hi all,
i just have to share something really cool which happened to me this past weekend.

As background. i am involved in a Rocky Horror Picture Show cast, where for the past few months i have been playing Frank N Furter. i enjoy my RHPS community, but it's a definitively not a "politically correct" scene, and i've been hesitant to come out as genderfluid/trans because... well, i'm a bit sensitive about it, i'm just getting started, i'm fairly femme, and i'm not always ready for the playful "teasing" & deliberately (but "all in good fun") offensive language which is a part of the RHPS culture.

Anyway. Last weekend i decided to tell a few people simply, "i'm gender transitioning."

A couple of the guys were normal-level supportive: "oh cool, we accept you no matter what." Most of these are the guys who flirt with me regularly.  The chicks were mostly like "cool!" and left it at that.

But three different people (all some kind of queer) asked me a question which blew my mind.
They asked, "oh? you're gender transitioning?  Which way?"

At first i was kind of confused by the question. But they asked, "like, transitioning to female or to male?"

i realized that these friends, with whom i've been performing for months, who've seen my (very sexy female) body in the dressing room, who've observed both my masculine and feminine presentations, and who have hung out with me at social events while i wasn't "trying" to "pass" as anything - these friends have perceived me unquestioningly as genderqueer, in such a natural way, that asking me if i was "transitioning to female" was a perfectly reasonable question.

Even before and within the first few weeks of T, at least some of those who see me most often have known me for who i am - fluid, in-between, queer, gender-transcending.

It's so incredibly validating.

Small gratitudes.

What a wonderful Christmas story!  I am also so glad to hear Rocky Horror is still in production.  Two gifts from you in one morning,  thank you.
